Jessica Alba ("Dark Angel") is poised to join Paul Walker and play the female lead in "Into the Blue," the MGM/Mandalay Pictures drama that director John Stockwell will shoot in the Cayman Islands and Florida next month.
Scripted by Matt Johnson ("Torque"), "Into the Blue" is about a young treasure-hunting couple who come upon a stash of cocaine that puts them in the path of unsavory salvagers. Walker, hot off "2 Fast 2 Furious," was set last month in a deal said to be in the $8.5 million range, the biggest payday of his career. MGM's Elizabeth Cantillon and Erik Baiers are steering the pic, with Mandalay's Peter Guber producing.
The Endeavor-repped Alba will next be seen starring in the Bille Woodruff-directed drama "Honey." (As reported by Variety)
