Week of March 13, 2006

You can take "The Peacemaker," "Deep Impact," and "The Tuxedo." We'll take "Gladiator," "American Beauty" and anything else that didn't suck.

Emilio's 17

Yeah, like he needed all that overpriced crap anyway...

This lawsuit's going to make 'House Party' look like 'House Party Two!'

I told you... don't call me SENIOR!!

Maybe this is all a bad dream too?

Thanks Sharon, but I think I'll wait until this one comes out on DVD (so I can freeze frame of course)

There is absolutely, positively no nepotism in Hollywood. None.

You're good, baby, I'll give you that... but me? I'm magic.

This band will go down like a lead balloon

Well, Goodbye there Children...

They can't sell the Capitol Records building! What will be left to destroy in the next crappy 'end of the world' movie?

Same old Courtney - still sponging off Kurt

Panic on the streets of Austin

You're a fat, Botox faced, wig-wearing ninny! Oh yeah? Well your band has a dirty H addict as a lead singer!

IS WAYNE BRADY GONNA HAVE TO CHOKE A BITCH?

Proof that she should stick with her day job, Ellen DeGeneres' frosh syndie gabber picked up the Daytime Emmy for best talkshow at a gala Radio City Music Hall awards ceremony Friday evening.

But it was Wayne Brady, whose daytime talker has been canceled, who drew the talkshow host nod for the second year in a row during the 31st annual Daytime Emmy Awards.

Long-running CBS sudser "The Young and the Restless" picked up the Emmy for drama series, helping the Eye walk away with seven awards, the most of any net.

Michelle Stafford of "The Young and the Restless" received the Emmy for lead actress, while longtime "General Hospital" star Anthony Geary took lead actor, one of four ABC wins on the night.

Embattled media diva Martha Stewart, who attended the ceremony, was passed over for an Emmy, including talkshow host of a service show. Award instead went to financial adviser Suze Orman for "Suze Orman: The Lessons of Money, the Lessons of Life" on PBS.

"The Ellen DeGeneres Show" picked up four awards.

"I should have been in daytime a long time ago," DeGeneres said after winning. "We have fun every day. It's the best job I've ever had."

"The Price Is Right" won in the gameshow category, with Bob Barker garnering his 13th hosting Emmy.

Pulling double duty, DeGeneres introduced a fun-hearted, musical tribute to "Sesame Street," which celebrates its 35th anniversary on the air this year. Children's show is the most honored program in the history of the Daytime Emmys, picking up six nods at the May 15 Daytime Emmy Craft and Creative Awards ceremony in Los Angeles.

On Friday, Jeff Corwin won the Daytime Emmy for best performer in a children's series for Discovery Kids' "Jeff Corwin Unleashed."

This year's lifetime achievement award went to 10 veteran soap actors -- Rachel Ames, John Clarke, Jeanne Cooper, Eileen Fulton, Don Hastings, Anna Lee (posthumously), Ray MacDonnell, Frances Reid, Helen Wagner and Ruth Warrick.

Emmys for supporting actors went to Rich Hearst of "General Hospital" and Cady McClain of "As the World Turns"; Chad Brannon of "GH" drew the younger actor nod, while Jennifer Finnigan of "The Bold and the Beautiful" drew younger actress kudos for the third year in a row.

Ceremony was broadcast on NBC. (As reported by VARIETY)
