Week of March 13, 2006

You can take "The Peacemaker," "Deep Impact," and "The Tuxedo." We'll take "Gladiator," "American Beauty" and anything else that didn't suck.

Emilio's 17

Yeah, like he needed all that overpriced crap anyway...

This lawsuit's going to make 'House Party' look like 'House Party Two!'

I told you... don't call me SENIOR!!

Maybe this is all a bad dream too?

Thanks Sharon, but I think I'll wait until this one comes out on DVD (so I can freeze frame of course)

There is absolutely, positively no nepotism in Hollywood. None.

You're good, baby, I'll give you that... but me? I'm magic.

This band will go down like a lead balloon

Well, Goodbye there Children...

They can't sell the Capitol Records building! What will be left to destroy in the next crappy 'end of the world' movie?

Same old Courtney - still sponging off Kurt

Panic on the streets of Austin

You're a fat, Botox faced, wig-wearing ninny! Oh yeah? Well your band has a dirty H addict as a lead singer!

GROHL GETS CLOSER TO TRENT REZNOR

Good old Dave Grohl--always lending a hand, or two, to those in need.

The former Nirvana drummer and current Foo Fighter frontman has landed a new gig: laying down drum tracks for Nine Inch Nails' highly anticipated Bleed Through, due early next year.

Nine Inch Nails' Website confirms that Grohl played on a number of new tracks being considered for the upcoming Interscope release.

"There is a much less refined approach to most of this record and I wrote a lot of the tracks envisioning powerful live drumming: enter Dave Grohl," says Nine Inch Nails mastermind Trent Reznor. "Working with him has been one of the most inspiring and exciting experiences I've had in the studio. The tracks he's played on [all 15] have come alive in a 'better-than-I'd-even-hoped-for' type way."

The new album, Grohl tells Billboard, "sounds incredible…it's [Trent's] first new [studio] record in five years...I looked at him and said, 'What have you been doing?'"

Grohl is no stranger to picking up the sticks for bands he digs. The hard-hitting skinsman has played and/or toured with bands like Queens of the Stone Age, Garbage and Killing Joke. Earlier this month, Grohl joined Jack Black's band, Tenacious D, at a Los Angeles fundraiser for John Kerry.

But Grohl's involvement with Nine Inch Nails will certainly come as a surprise to many--especially since most casual music fans could be forgiven for thinking the industrial sounding Nine Inch Nails even had a live drummer.

One-man band Reznor usually records NIN albums solo in his home studio (he used to live in the house where Sharon Tate was murdered and now lives in New Orleans).

Although his 1999 release, The Fragile, debuted at number one on Billboard's Hot 200, it quickly disappeared from the charts and had nowhere near the cultural impact of his 1994 smash, The Downward Spiral.

Reznor released a live CD in 2002. He has also kept busy scoring high-profile videogame titles and films like One Hour Photo (although he eventually removed his name from the final credits).

And while Reznor and Grohl seem unlikely collaborators, they share something in common both would just as soon rather forget: Reznor and Grohl have had their share of run-ins with Courtney Love. Reznor briefly dated the courtroom favorite years ago, and Grohl has gone to court to prove he thinks Love is certifiably insane. (He later dropped the allegation as part of an out-of-court settlement.)

Grohl's Foo Fighters also hope to have a new record out in 2005. In the meantime, he seems more than happy to play with whomever he pleases. "I get bored easily," he tells Billboard. "But I like to think I'm selective." (Story courtesy of E! Online)
