Boondock 2

I am probably the only fan of Boondock Saints on the board but I figured I'd ask anyway.

Do any of you have any information about the sequel, Boondock 2? I am wondering if it will even get picked up for release.

I thought Troy Duffy got the royal shaft when his first movie (Boondock Saints) originally got pulled from release because of the Columbine incident seriously derailing his fledgling career.

You are not alone in your fandom.

Boondock Saints is one of my all time favorites.

I think there's a much bigger cult for that movie than people know. I know a ton of fans who not only love it, but push it on anyone who says they haven't seen it. Not a single person I've met has said they didn't like it.

I have personally converted 5 others. How could anyone not like that movie?

I can't really talk because I am a convert myself. I'm excited to see how a sequel works out.

Re: Boondock 2

We were all converted at some point. I had three separate friends lend it to me at once (I couldn't bring myself to tell them I had borrowed it from someone else and still not watched it), and it still took me a while. Once I did, instant conversion. Now I spread the good word.

[sung]
"Let us all..."
"all roll back!"
"To that old..."
"Old Boondock!"
[spoken]
"Have you seen the light?"

A guy tried to get us to watch it after a stripper left a bachelor party. It didn't go so well. We were all pretty drunk and Willem Dafoe just wasn't working it the way that the stripper had been. Although, I have heard many good things about it, I have yet to see it.

Re: Boondock 2

Well, it's only 6 years later but the sequel is set for release. Now I'm wondering if I really want to see it happen. My feelings about the film have gone up and down at various times. Mainly I liked it because it was original when it came out. Now that it's been copied so many times since then, I don't know if a sequel is necessary. Either way, it's coming.

Red band trailer is here.

Okay, I take it all back. Watched the trailer and now I'm excited. Villainous Judd Nelson, what more needs said? Most of the original cast (sans Willem Defoe :() I'll be tuning in.

Wow, I have heard that they have been working on number 2 since the first one came out, I didn't realize it was out until last week when I drove past the theater. I need to get out more.

Re: Boondock 2

How comes I haven't seen it out in the theatres around here yet?
Or have I been looking the wrong way?
Anyway.
Too bad Willem Dafoe is not in this one, but still. There will be some Big Yin awsomeness!

Maybe they don't like Scotland? I haven't seen any advertisements for it, so the studio must not be giving it a push and limiting the number of theaters it's in.
