So, it started. With New Zealand winning easy over Tonga whose backs haven't tackled at all in the first half.

Acceptable game, but not great.

Looks like they are avoiding to shoot all their ammos in the first games to keep them for later. They might even end up not choking, for once...

one win thank god.

fortunately for me the games are on at like 3:30 and 4:30 in the afternoon.

and, as today is POWTS day (piss off work tomorrows saturday) i may try and go to the pub for a late lunch and catch a few.

I am really curious to go with Argentina vs Romania in Pool B and hope they will not annoy us in any ways . And an another bad news is ,skipper Richie McCaw will not play against Japan as a precaution and lets watch what happen there now .

Fuck, when they had that turnover or what ever is was (was watching the crowd not the ball) near the end and took the ball for a near try... the noise was deafening! If he'd scored i think my ears would still be ringing!

Lot of hot Irish chicks at that game also!

I'd love to watch me the New Zealand - France match. Kick off was...ten minutes ago, I think. Anyone know of a site showing it live? I reckon France will want to lose that match (not that they have much say in the matter, really), and by the looks of things, they've put out a B team.

Ireland have such an incredible chance in this competition. Wales will be tough, but if we play like we did against Australia and Italy...who knows?

It was brutal to watch. so many close tries in the last 10 to 15 minutes where Wales just kept pushing Ireland back just as they got meters from the posts.


Won 450 HKD (about 50 bucks US) on the France England Game. Had France by 9 and was the closest in the pot. Sorry England.

I'll be watching Wales v France tomorrow. not sure who to root for; and OZ v Kiwi on Sunday. Rootin' for the OZ on this one. Kiwi's are the Yankees of Rugby, without the uber asshole fans.

Here we go; another "I'm a big boy!" throw.

Lets see:
1. America's Cup, is the oldest active trophy in international sport. what'd NZ win it once? twice? USA won it 29 times.
2. Basketball - in the Olympics since they started in 1936 winning 13 out of 17 times.
3. Phelps - American, and just so happens to have the most individual olympic medals ever. And if you look at the top 5 all time leading individual olympic medal holders; 4 out of the 5 are USA. In fact, USA leads all time most Olympic medals period. By a thousand points more than anyone else.
4. Armstrong - 7 consecutive tour de france wins. Good luck beating that in the next 50 to 100 years.
5. Will not get into baseball. It's north/central america's sport. asia gives a good show of it (and by asia I mean China, Taiwan, Japan, Korea) but, europe doesn't care about it.
6. Soccer - We barely considered it until the 70's and have to catch up with the rest of the World yes. But, our women seem to have a few world cups under there belt already and apparently are the all time best women's world cup champions with 2 1st, 1 2nd and 3 3rds. Men's USA have been in every the World Cup since 1994. So between the men and the women, we are sure as hell doing 1,000% better than NZ in it and are world champions. You guys been in it twice for the men and 3 times for the women....and have squat to show for it.

Great, NZ is world Champions in one thing. Rugby. Yes, its something. And a fine sport to be top dog in.

That being said.............do you really think the USA couldn't put forward a decent rugby team if we gave to flat fucks about the sport? You have as much of a chance of finding rugby on an american tv set as you do cricket.
Our rugby team is made up of a bunch of 4th string football players who would rather spend time on the field than time on the bench. American football is just way too much more entertaining and awesome. Pray we stay outta your sand box.

also america has how many million people, and NZ has 4.2million give or take, which mean statistically NZ is better in pretty much every example you gave.

and as for the yellow card.. Thats the rules jackass, got nothing to do with "oh out sport is more manly that yours" i actually like and watch alot of american football, so get your head out your ass.

FYI it wasnt an "ozzy vs kiwi" game, because thats the league teams, i hate league, but the less said about that game the better!

no one in NZ plays soccer really, its on a lower lever here than it is in America. You go into america football but not basketball because no one else plays it? oh right Americans dont get irony!

That final was incredible, and that although the devil on my shoulder wanted to see France nick it just for a neutral's entertainment, The All Blacks totally deserved it over the course of the tournament.

I wouldn't agree with the NZ/NY comparison; I would be more inclined to call New Zealand the Brazil of rugby. They are the greatest nation the sport has ever seen, consistently, for around 100 years. You can't deny their brilliance without looking as silly as Piri Weepu during a haka:
