Apologies if this has been posted elsewhere and I've missed it:

Fantastic Four character to die in next issue. (http://www.geekosystem.com/fantastic-four-character-death/)

Who do you think is going to get the comic-chop?

Johnny makes the most sense at this point. Reed is carrying the series, and his death would have a big impact seeing as how he has been so important, but I'm not sure how far out his death would reverberate through Marvel because he's not as beloved. The Thing doesn't make sense because they just gave him that big turning human arc and thats too big of a change to get rid of him now. Plus, he's a big part of The New Avengers at the moment. Sue is too important to the kids, which would make an interesting dynamic with Reed having to be a more integral part of their lives with her gone, but again, I think they want something that would affect the whole Marvel U.

Johnny though, he's the heart of the team, always has been, and he's had relationships with Spider-Man and other big teams so he will be missed. Plus the kids have looked up to him as a role model recently.

I know Hickman will handle it well though.

But they made it an announcement. I hate hate hate hate hate HATE the fact stories can't just come as a freakin' surprise. I know when Colossus popped up again my jaw hit the floor. Why do they insist on marketing spoilers for the people who care. Sure more people will buy it up front, but word would get out anyway and then sales will still pick up. It just makes me so.....angry

DC pulled that recently with solicitations regarding the death of a certain azure insect and it equal parts pissed me off and saddened me to no end. If they weren't publishing three Green Lantern books a month, I'd forsake them with my impotent rage!

The Sapphire one will be back really soon. Shit, they have too much marketing with him to kill him off.

I just hate that death seems to be the only selling point for these stories anymore. This is the same thing they pulled when they killed *spoiler: highlight to read*Nightcrawler

It's very likely that it'll turn out to be fake, but I'm just as pissed about that as you are. DC's just been pissing me off too much recently. I've stopped legally acquiring Green Lantern and started "legally acquiring" it. I'm kinda bored with it now.

Zatanna, Red Robin, Booster Gold, Batgirl, Birds of Prey, Secret Six, Supergirl, The Flash, and now recently Batman Inc are keeping me from giving up on DC completely.

Word, yo. Word.

I'm kinda angry with both companies for different reasons. Marvel keeps pushing these heroes that sell, but make for shit comics (Deadpool, Red Hulk, etc.) DC seems to want to extend their events to the point that nobody gives a damn by the end of it. The payoff is not worth the wait.

I don't know. They made a big deal about the Death of Captain America a while back and that wasn't kept a secret. Same thing with Batman in Final Crisis. I don't begrudge them wanting to sell comics but I wish more things were marketed the way that Marvel marketed S.H.I.E.L.D. with a bunch of awesome cryptic images that leave you guessing, not just blatantly telling you the big stuff and let you guess the details.

I'm angry at DC for a multitude of reasons, that one included. I now see why a lot of people get burned out and jaded on mainstream comics, same shit different companies. There's barely anything fun anymore.

I totally agree. It's no different than soap operas announcing a character's death/wedding/affair, etc. I don't understand how fans of those shows are not furious that they have been told what will happen in advance.

There's barely anything fun anymore.
