That one is stupid... the votes went to Buchanan and not to Bush. The problem with the ballot was that the voting tab was one notch below and those who MAY HAVE intended to vote for Gore instead voted for Buchanan.
Also, the ballots were created by democrats... why would they make the "Bush" slot clear and not the Gore one? Is that implying that democrats worked to win the election for Bush? /forums/images/icons/wink.gif
Mike Collins needs to leave his political leanings out of his humor sometimes. I have seen a better one where all of the arrows are confusing. This one just preaches to the ignorant... probably the same people who voted for Buchanan.

You know, I don't think it was an actual representation of the actual ballot used in Florida. It is just supposed to make a point about how the Dems in Florida screwed up in making the ballots they used.
Razorback
07-31-2003, 07:31 PM
It was supposed to say "Hey look! They made it so hard for the people to vote that Bush won!"
The truth is that it was confusing or NOT confusing for everyone. Twenty-thousand people found it too complicated and millions found that it was clear enough that they voted correctly.
The funny thing is that had Gore won then that cartoon would not exist in any form. There would be a different one with Bush trying to steal the election from Gore.

Ah yes, the big "IF". I guess what we can say is...."IF" those thousands of morons in Florida could've pulled their collective heads out of their collective asses long enough, Bush might not have won.
It is a good thing they didn't.

I think Gore is honest... I also think he would have lead the country as well if not better than Bush. I also think that Bush has done a great job and is being unfairly attacked by people in the Power Media (meaning, entertainment) and abroad.
However, I love a good Bush joke. /forums/images/icons/smile.gif

Bush is certainly not honest, but I agree, no politician is. This seems to be a Republican hunting lodge in here for the most part, and while I'm neither Dem nor Rep (I always have a hard time saying a large organization represents my views accurately) I think I might stay out of this.

I call myself a Republican, but probably because most of my views align with them. However, I do cide with the Democrats on some issues too. I guess you can say I am more of an Independent.

I forget which comedian it was, I think it was Lewis Black, said America was so offended by Clinton that they elected a president who had neither the inclination, nor the capicity to lie to them.
Despite being former coke head who's mental inadequacy precedes him with every inept attempt to sound meaningful or well informed, I'd only consider him a slightly incompetent leader. My only knock against Bush jr. is that he's too slow to notice his administration's entire agenda is driven by Halliburton.
I actually don't mind imperialism, the last time there was peace in the middle east was under the Ottoman Empire, but a strictly corporate imperialism made with a 100 million dollar investment garnering the cooperation of the Vice President and ultimately the US itself is slightly unnerving.

Well now that was just a cheap shot at the president. We all know this is about oil and I say "show what." We need oil for a great many things among them, we need it for gasoline and I'm going to be driving soo and you know what I would like the price on gas to be low. If this really is about oil I say kill them all as long as gas prices go down.
[All statements made in this post are merely satire to show the selfishness that people my age have. Oh yeah and Bush for re-election woo-hoo!!!]

That is so funny! There is a certain Yogi Berra quality to Mr. Bush.
When I read stuff like that I think how lucky it is that I am not quoted often. When I speak, I tend to be thinking of a thousand other things at the same time and I would end up just like him. I also have this bad habit of answering the phone when I am typing on the computer. Then I say to the person what I was supposed to type; and type what I was supposed to say. All this leads to local opinion of a possible "crack" habit I may have developed. They call it "crack", I call it multitasking.
