I was looking through some boxes over the weekend and found a few Sticker albums. A few of them (The Nintendo, Street Fighter and Sloppy Slobs) really took me back to school. Never managed to complete an album, though.

I also have a large bundle of Wrestling, Batman Returns (still with the free chewing gum in some packets) TMNT movie, and cartoon series trading cards somewhere.

Did anyone else have any of these, or which other ones did you collect? Not sure how successful stickers were/are in the US. Cards are the big thing?

I definitely had the Batman movie ones (original, not Returns). I can still remember how rank those chewing gum sticks were.
I had some Simpsons ones and I tried to collect the Premierleague ones too but like you I could never finish the set.

DAMN YOU MERLIN!

This card has always been in my stationery draw:

I'll send you some for a sickly taste test. :p

I have a shoe box full of these somewhere, but they're not signed. I haven't seen them in years, but they're still in my Dad's garage somewhere.

Wow, I forgot all about sticker albums. As for trading cards, one of my proudest accomplishments was completing an album of miniature baseball cards that came in Cracker Jack boxes back in 1992 I believe. There were a good 40 cards in that set, I must have ate my way through 100 boxes of Cracker Jacks in one summer. How I grew up without an addictive personality is beyond me.

I used to collect BattleCards (http://fightingfantasy.wikia.com/wiki/BattleCards), although I never actually played with them. I got a full set, apart from the sectret Emperor card, which you had to send off for.

Antonio, your SF2 and Nintendo sticker books make me very envious...

If in good condition, there may be $$$ there!

I had a few of them! Then they disappeared and I later found them underneath my brothers bed. He had scratched off all the cards.

Git.

Are The Sloppy Slobs anything like The Garbage Pail Kids?

I think very much so. They were quite disturbing really for kids to collect.

Note: I always thought it was pale kids.

Ooh! That reminded me, I also used to collect Garbage Pail Kids stickers, although I didn't have an album for them. I decided to stick them all on my bedroom door one afternoon, which enraged my mother.

Only have this one left now.

At an estate sale, my parents bought almost the entire set of Desert Storm trading cards for about 50 cents.

As a set, they're probably worth about a dollar...nice. :p

Ok, I've searched my attic for these twice but have no idea where they may have gone. Well besides the Salvation Army. But I used to have a wicked collection of Simpsons Pogs...

Never heard of Dr Crab & Hypno Head!

Yeah, that picture was actually pretty typical of the collection. You have to remember that in '92, the Simpsons cast hadn't quite ballooned into 50 or so well known characters, so a bunch were dedicated to briefly seen Radioactive Man enemies and other oddities that you'd probably never known about unless you constantly freeze framed the first 3 seasons.

I have two notebooks full of Pokemon cards. I never played, though. I just needed to "catch 'em all" as they say.

And even today when I go to a store I have to resist buying them. It's pretty bad. :(

Its okay. Admitting you have a problem is the first step to recovery. ;)
