Ahoy all. Sorry my first post on the forums is spam, but I'm just sharing a link to my podcast and I really think that if you dig Smodcast, you'd like Being a Dudecast.

Being a Dudecast is a beerfueled romp into the normal conversations my abnormal friends and I have. Not suprisingly, they tend to center around boners and fucking. The point of the show is to be anecdotal and conversational, but most importantly funny. We're really just trying to make each other laugh, but my hope is that we'll make some other people laugh, too. If listening to guys talk about crazy hump stories, or puberty awkwardness, or boners doesn't make you laugh, this definitely wouldn't be for you. This is a group of guys with overactive libidos and imaginations.

We're relatively new to the scene, so it won't be too tough to catch up. We've got seven almost hour long episodes up and we update the 1st and 15th of every month, and we haven't missed an update yet. This is some very juvenile, NSFW stuff that I'm sure you'll enjoy.

I plan to join in the fun.

I've been a fan of Kevin Smith's since Clerks. I've lurked quickstopentertainment for a long time, enjoying the articles and other podcasts. I just never posted anything in the forums.

I don't expect any respect right out of the gate, but no harm in posting a link for my first post, I would hope.

I plan on sticking around, not just dropping this in and leaving. I anticipate the sock full of pennies for the new guy, though.

If you really feel it necessary to delete this shit from the get go just 'cuz I don't have any posts under my belt, if that's the common practice, then have at it. Otherwise, just give it a shot.

I admin a message board with over 16000 members (thought only probably 1600 active) and I'm well aware of how this kinda stuff gets greeted.

As far as message board ettiquette goes, though, I don't think it's the worst I could have done and I thought I'd lead with something a little more interested than "hey. i'm new here." Nobody seems to care about that nonsense. So, I linked to some content someone around here might actually appreciate.

If not, that's cool, too.

I still dig the fuck out of this site, and this message board, and usually the stuff that gets discussed here is a lot of the same shit I'm really into.

If you really can't wait to plug your podcast just put the link in your signature, it stands out enough to see it but it is subtle enough that it is not spam as it is separate from your post, and the upside is it will appear under every post. I'm sharing a link for something someone might be interested in, based on the assumptions I've made in being familiar with this community. No one has any obligation to do anything, and whether they click on it or not has no impact on the community as a whole, or on the individual that may or may not click.

Not being interested is one thing, but I think you guys are really taking this to an extreme. I get NOTHING out of someone going ahead and checking out the podcast. In fact, it costs me money.

I'm just thankful that someone very early on in Smodcast's start pointed it out to me and it ended up being the right kind of humor I was looking for. It became something I looked forward to week after week. If someone hadn't told me about it, I could have completely missed out on it.

All this talk of burning bridges and shit seems a little extreme, but whatever. I had completely honest and innocent intentions with posting this. If it takes four months of commenting on other stuff and a couple hundred posts before I can take the oppurtunity to put something out there, then so be it. I don't think not doing that should wipe something off the table from the get go, but obviously there are plenty of others who disagree.

And yes, I do admin a message board and I've seen this kinda shit happen before, but I usually use my position to step in and remind the community to give someone a shot before railroading them.

I have sub'ed and listen to most of the last episode. I must say it is quite funny and perverse. I thought I watched a lot of porn, but you guys watch some sick ass shit!
