Two of our heroes gang upon on an unsuspecting Sharp-O as the fallout of Laurengate is felt. As they resolve their differences, they find out a lot of things about each other, and strive forward to uncover the truth behind the universe such as:

I realise the sound quality of the podcast isn't great but we're still starting up and learning. But I have possibly found the solution to the audio quality problem. I should have some new mics in 2 weeks, so that should improve the quality of the sound, if only the contents were of better quality ;)

SingStar PS2 mics with a USB adapter. 20 quid for 2, cheapest USB mics I could find and work exceptionally well in the tests I've done. The true test is when I record the next show on monday.

The Playstation make sucks balls but it's microphone technology is excellent. :D

cool, cool. we tried them out last night. it took a while, but we got them to work on a mac using garageband to record. the only thing I am dreading is one mic is the left side and the other on the right, so It may sound like earlier episodes of zer0cast. Hopefully I figure out some way around it when I edit.

I've had the opposite effect, only one mic is picking up on the pc and I can't find why it's doing it


As for the stereo issue, isn't there a slider on garageband to allow you to pan the sound to make it more even?

All you have to do is render the file. Then open it in a new project and select stereo, and rerender. It should fix it.

I have tried that and iTunes says there are no episodes in that feed. Strange enough but now blogspot is acting up and so is google. Methinks some hazardous software is at work here.

well I can say from experiance.... podbean works....when it wants to... but still works...

If you're willing to drop some cash, I've had a lot of luck and good experience with Libsyn (http://http://www.libsyn.com/index.php?&mode=logout&message=).

The process for posting it to iTunes is all automated and Libsyn so far has been a really good host for a podcast. They have a nice stats system where you can track downloads and whatnot. They have different tiers of plans for hosting, but I think the best part is they don't cap the bandwidth of downloads. You have a limit of upload per month, and it never counts against you once an episode gets archived.

You can make the blog site look a little nicer than the standard blogspot ones, too.

Just a heads up.

We recorded with garageband at first, but to be honest I like our Audacity mixes much more. The compression on the garageband early episodes sounds kinda not so great for my show. It got a little better as we progressed.

My studio setup has a nice firewire audio interface that I run my mixers through. I have two really good mics and two cheapies. You can tell the cheapies suck compared to the good, but overall I think we have the soundmix down pretty well.

I really dig Audacity, especially for freeware. It's comparable with expensive-ass nonlinear editing software I used in radio production.

I'm checking out your podcast tonight.

I think I enjoyed it very much :D

Everyone seemed in a very productive state in regards to comedy for this episode and I especially liked the moment where you hit upon the 'Molestation of Milo from Kinect' issue.

An issue that might be why Microsoft seems to have pulled it from it's list of launch titles for Kinect.. perhaps :p

Thanks Mike :D It left me with a damn sore throat though, most of the editing was cutting out my coughs and splutters. The episode title was going to be something Jabba said about Solo but I couldn't find a quote. :(

The Arrival to Earth score is one of my favourite instrumental pieces. 28 Weeks Later isn't really a bad film, it was just kind of unnecessary and could probably have been alright on it's own. Like Chronicles of Riddick, terrible sequel but probably would've been ok as it's own film.

I personally like the itsjustsomerandomguy comicon song! when my girlfriend was up last weekend I played the video for her and had that song stuck in my head all weekend. now it looks like it will be in there this weekend also.
