View Full Version : New Quote Game Round 3

Okay, here is a new guess the quote thread. You can use quotes from either a movie or TV series. I will start the first quote. It is from a movie.
"You're the voice crying out in the wilderness. You're the voice that makes my brain burn and my guts go gooey. Yeah, you gut me. My insides spill on your alter and tell the future. My steaming, gleaming guts spell out your nature."
ratm1966
07-23-2003, 08:56 PM
I know this is a very off the wall movie, so I will also give a hint. The character who said it was the "Eat me, beat me" lady.

Okay, there have been a lot of views here, but not many guesses. Maybe I have stumped everyone. Okay, here is another hint....Happy Harry Hardon

Pish, why need to give a hint. Pump up the Volume...You see, you can talk when you want to.
ratm1966
07-24-2003, 01:27 AM
Zens is on a roll tonight. It is your turn to post a quote on this thread.
Zens_7s
07-24-2003, 01:30 AM
Pish this "roll" stuff. I am only on a roll because Denyse loaned me some good [censored] that is rolled. So I am giving this quote up to my homegirl, 'cuase she knows her [censored] too, dawg.
[Zen puts down the Hiphoptionary, and takes a relaxing step back for a moment...]
Denyse
07-24-2003, 01:37 AM
Thank you to the Gentlewoman from Illinos for giving me the floor. Unfortunately, I've lost some brain cells tonight (from laughing, you smart asses), so I'll have to throw out a semi-hard one -
"I've seen a lot of sexually perverse photographs involving tennis rackets."
ratm1966
07-24-2003, 02:01 AM
I was gonna wait on this one....but what the hell....

Denyse
07-24-2003, 02:08 AM
Thank god...Now I can go home.
Zens_7s
07-24-2003, 02:11 AM
But DUDE...you are home. I am looking right at you. So wierd...
ratm1966
07-24-2003, 02:11 AM
Okay, I will post this quote, then I am off. Gotta get up early for work. If anyone gets it right, I will let them know tomorrow...actually, later today...damn.
"All I need are some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine."
Denyse
07-24-2003, 02:18 AM
You're kidding, right Spicoli? Please tell me you are kidding. Or is this the fastest finger question?
If that was too obtuse, the answer is Fast Times At Ridgemont High
ratm1966
07-24-2003, 07:50 AM
Hey! It was like 12:30 AM here and that was all I could come up with. But yeah, you are right once again. I guess it is your turn.

ratm1966
07-24-2003, 01:32 PM
Dude, I didn't steal your thread. If you would look at yours, we are keeping both running. This way, more people can get involved when one person posts a quote that seems to stump everyone.
Denyse
07-24-2003, 01:43 PM
OK, I'm awake now...Here you go!
"What's Washington like? Well its like Calcutta, surrounded by beggars. The only difference is the beggars in Washington wear 1500 dollar suits and they don't say please or thank you."
Have at it!
ratm1966
07-24-2003, 01:46 PM
Um, that one is from Traffic. I just wish I knew the one on the other thread....it is a stumper.
DangerSeeker
07-24-2003, 01:52 PM
I have to agree. Having two separate threads keeps the game going, as the other thread was hitting a lag. We're just creating an American League and a National League. I won't say which is which, so as not to discourage all the fuzzy little phorners
Denyse
07-24-2003, 02:04 PM
Yeah, it's a stumper when you look it up on IMDB, and it's not there, huh, you clever boy... /forums/images/icons/wink.gif In any case, the floor is yours.
ratm1966
07-24-2003, 02:11 PM
What is IMDB?
NE ways....wait, that is the same number of character spaces as anyways.....this is an easy one, as my lunch break is almost over and I have to get back to work.

Zens_7s
07-24-2003, 08:31 PM
Wow - that was a total guess. I have not seen it in years. Here goes...
"In vain have I struggled, it will not do. You must allow me to tell you how ardently I admire and love you."
Denyse
07-24-2003, 08:39 PM
Girlfriend...That's mean. Did they even have sound when that came out?
ratm1966
07-24-2003, 08:45 PM
I am not even gonna guess this one, because no matter what I said, the guys would probably ridicule me for having watched it.
Wait, I just admitted to watching it. Okay, the lady I was dating at the time wanted to watch it. I had no choice. She found my handcuffs when I was asleep and cuffed me to the chair.
Zens_7s
07-24-2003, 08:49 PM
Sure she MADE you watch it. Yeah, they had sound when the good version came out...I want to say more, but I will refrain from giving too much more away.

Zens_7s
07-24-2003, 10:16 PM
She did! Sorry - I left the house for a bit to go get Culver's Frozen Custard. Most of you non-Wisconsinites/Illinoisians do not know the beauty that is Culvers. They even have cheese curds.
I knew I liked that OzChick. Next time I have a Colin Firtho'Festival she is invited. You're up OzChick!
ozchick
07-24-2003, 10:28 PM
Colin Firtho'Festival? Think I'd prefer a Colin Farrell Festival! But its all jiggy!
A quote a quote....hmmmmmmm... we'll give this one a go (hard to think of a quote off the top of my head when I'm at work and not at home surrounded by movies!)

Damn dude, in 1984 I was 7. If you take that and multiply it by 12, divide it by Denyse's bra size, and take the square root of that number, you can figure out my I.Q. Frickin' mind boggling.
ratm1966
07-25-2003, 12:39 AM
Let's see....7 X 12 is 84. Divide that by 36 and you get 2.3333333333333. The square root of that is.....

You and Towlie are cops? Dear lord, that is way too fun. It is nice to see the strong arm of the law being handled by the more entertaining citizens.
Hey Denyse, remember that time the cop said "I am a police office. Lay down on your back and do everything the nice officer tells you to." and you fell for it! Damn, that was a funny night. (this is to retaliate for the previous fireman/firepoll comment)
ratm1966

towelie99
07-25-2003, 02:03 PM
No, it's not Bed of Roses, you [censored] 'mo. You are on the right track with Christian Slater, though. Here's another quote from the same movie, where our hero goes into a gun store:
CLERK: "Can I help you" (Not exact)
HERO: "Yes, I want a big gun that holds a lot of bullets!"
CLERK: "God bless you, young man!"
So how about now. Any clearer?

It's one of my favorite lines in the film. I'll set the scene and that might help a little. It's towards the end of the movie. The main characters have just made a huge decision to basically walk into certain death. There is a moment of silence and then one of the characters says "The news says it's raining in New York." It cuts to the next scene.

Cool! My turn then:

Is it from "The Moderns"? I think it is...

Thanks, Kep. Alright everyone, I'm going to Busch Gardens today, so I won't be around to pass the torch. Here's an easy one, so whoever gets it first goes next:
"We've lost the beeps, we've lost the sweeps, and we've lost the creeps!"
And...go!

Ok, was that a question, or was that just you saying you were going to say that, because I think know that answer. I loved Episode 2. But, I am praying to the star wars gods that episode 3 is way better than that non-well acted movie. The only ones who truly deserved any credit in Episode 2 was Ewan McGregor and Yoda.

I agree... but I did not think it was (intrinsically) badly acted. Lucas directed his actors to do just what they gave. So if you have a problem with the actors take it up with Lucas, this is (for whatever reason) how he wants them to act.
So is it bad acting? From a certain point of view. Or is it good acting that most people do not like? Whatever. /forums/images/icons/laugh.gif

Can I post a quote? I really, really want to, if Zens will give me the floor, of course.
By the way, I'm sad to say this, but rumors of Lucas even considering members of N Sync as Jedi, well, I made up my mind then and there....
...and shed a tear for the whole human race.

Why? What does it matter? If they can do it, then why not? You can't discriminate against someone simply because they were in a pop band. Next thing you know, you're going to want whitey to ride at the back of the bus.
Droogan_Leader
08-15-2003, 02:54 PM
Maybe I already want whitey at the back of the bus...did you think of that, huh, huh?
Besides, what would the members of N'Sync do with their light sabers? I shudder to think...

I'm shuddering now too.

Then you were predisposed to disliking some move by Lucas. It did not bother me that he considered them. What does it have to do with my enjoyment of the movie?
