I'm not sure if anyone has heard or even cares, but it appears that pitchman Billy Mays has passed. You can find the story here (http://www.latimes.com/news/obituaries/la-me-billy-mays29-2009jun29,0,6116879.story).
RIP Billy.

I know, right. Death has not been kind this year at all. Besides all of the famous folks that have died, I lost my grandmother, uncle and one of my best friends. We seriously take our lives for granted most of the time.:(

I'm going to say something that's going to sound very cold, but it's not it's the truth. People make WAY too big of a deal about a celeb dying. Honestly, I'm not going to sit around and lament the fact that the annoying dude from the Oxiclean or Awesome auger commercials will not be selling any more products. Nor will I miss Michael Jackson. Do I enjoy some of his music?....yes. Do I think he made invaluable contributions to the world of music and performing arts?.....yes. I also think he was a mentally ill child molester, even though he was never convicted of it. I'm happy that no more children will ever have their innocence of childhood stolen by this pervert.

Uhhh, whatever happened to innocent before proven guilty?
What I find shocking is that he wasn't that old, MJ wasn't that old, hell Farah wasn't that old. As I expressed life will go on, but posting one or two things about their death isn't going to hurt anyone.

OJ was innocent too.
Paying off the kid that accuses you of pedophilia implies some level of guilt. If you're innocent, why give in to their demands, especially if you're worth half a billion and have what amounts to unlimited resources when it comes to fighting the accusations?

For me, that surpasses being a loon. He endangered his kiddywink's life!

Anyway, I was watching "Pitchmen" this morning before I heard of the news. Sure, the guy seemed to make a living out of being loud and an aggressive salesman, but you know what? For better or worse, that's a great portrait of the American dream. Its not always pretty and eloquent, but its how you get the job done.

In my mind, those childrens parents were just as much as fault as Michael. They just set him up to get his cash and exploit their own children. Which is more to blame, the fire or the one who starts it? And please keep in mind I'm not defending any of the actions that it is obvious that Michael took with some of those children, I'm saying that their parents are twice as evil to me for throwing their own children on the tracks for financial gains.

This is a little late...but I'm just gonna say that the only celebrity I ever really gave a shit about their death and its effect on the world besides politicians was Steve Irwin. He was a good man and it sucks to see that happen. I know that Michael Jackson/Ed McMahon/Farah Fawcett/Billy Mays were all talented people who did what they did very well, but I their death didn't make me superfluously sad. Steve Irwin did.
I'm done.

Hold up man. I was talking about when he dangled his own child over a balcony in Germany.

He purposely poked very dangerous animals until they did something exciting...it was just a matter of time...

Fair enough.
I never thought it'd be a sting ray though.
Anyways, it would seem that Billy Mays was hit pretty hard on the head yesterday when the flight he was on had a helluva landing- front tire blew and everything in the overhead compartments came out when the plane touched down. Something big and heavy hit Mays in the head. Probably caused a concussion and internal bleeding within the brain cavity.
Of course, the airline is blaming Billy Mays, claiming he wasn't wearing his seatbelt.
How soon until the Feds mandate we all wear helmets all the time?

It is sad that he died, but I do have to agree about the whole celebrity thingy and say I have no more remorse for him than any normal Joe on the street.
The only people I really have no remorse for are people that do stupid things that cause their own death, like Heath Ledger taking a gazillion prescription meds that all have basically the same side effect, so he does of an overdose. I also have no remorse for people like Michael Jackson who are sicko criminals that commit crimes against children and then buy themselves out of trouble just because they can.

I'm not sure what kind of argument will emerge from tackling this statement, so I'll suffice in recommending this (http://www.amazon.com/Michael-Jackson-Conspiracy-Aphrodite-Jones/dp/0979549809/ref=sr_1_4?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1246251599&sr=8-4) as a good book to read for anyone curious about MJ's criminal charges. In all likelihood, both charges were fatuous, bolstered by media hype that completely overlooked the lack of evidence behind the accusations. I'm not saying he's innocent, just saying that damning him so liberally without knowing the facts is just as erroneous.
Baretta did that shit, though.

I don't buy the plane story, I say Vince strangled him with a ShamWow.
Preliminary autopsy says might have been heart disease... no evidence of head trauma...
