View Full Version : Seven Degrees from Ken Plume

After spending a while on Quickstop and listening to Snydecast, I've come to the conclusion that Ken Plume is the new Kevin Bacon.
So here's a new game. Pick a celebrity and see if you can link them to Ken in seven links or less(I'm adding an extra link here because Ken's a little more obscure).
For example....
Jason Mewes. 2 degrees.
Jason Mewes is a close friend of Kevin Smith, whose website Quickstop Entertainment is run by Ken Plume.
So lets jump into this with an easy one, Edgar Wright.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the Kevin Bacon game derive from the original "six degrees of separation" idea, which states that every human being is connected to every other, through a maximum of six connections? If this is the case, then extra link you provided is unnecessary.

Edgar Wright worked on the Shaun of the Dead comic with Chris Ryall at IDW publishing.
Chris Ryall being the former MPS/QSE lord and wielder of the banstick.

EXACTLY. Which pretty much makes the WHOLE thing unneccesary...unless you put some kind of limiting factor into the equation. (i.e. In the Kevin Bacon game, all entries must be actors/actresses living today. I think connections may be made using dead performers...but the originating entry must be alive.).

Still, it can be a fun drinking game. ;)

Don't get me wrong. I LOVE LOVE LOVE some Kevin Bacon game. But the novelty comes from the limiting factors. Hell, if you could just use anyone or anything to make connections, I can be connected to Kevin Bacon in like 4 steps.

Seriously though, you're right. I forgot about about that.
How about we just change it to six degrees and nobody gets hurt.

I still recommend some kind of limiting rules. I can link myself to a shit ton celebrities in like one to two steps...and I'm nobody.

Do you really need rules to thing like this?

You Bastard..................I love it.
OK, what about each person try to build their own degree of seperation list to someone famous? As you guys said, Plumey is just two easy. He's got dozen's of famous people 2 to 3 steps away. Us on the other hand......not so easy.

Okay, rules...
Limited to only seven degrees or less
No dead celebrites
There has to have been some form of real interaction between each person(the interviews done on here count)
If you can think of anymore feel free to add them.
Man this turned into a lot of work from something I came up with while I was bored at work.

I like it. That eliminates the..."So and so knows so and so. Or so and so is friends with so and so." I think.
Maybe change it to real professional interaction? That way you can't link with goofy stuff like, "Fan Boy #7 was at Dragon*Con '07 and had Dean Cain sign his Superman mug. Ken Plume used the same rest room as Dean Cain. CONNECTION!"
:D

Done. Maybe I should start a new thread for this. It'll be less confusing.
