Ditto. Why in the hell would anyone want to watch something like, I don't know... that Sex & The City movie in hi-def? Or Meet the Parents and pretty much anything starring Susan Sarandon? Sarah Jessica Parker's face does look like a foot. (It's hard for me to come up with more examples because if I have no interest in watching it, I do my best to forget it exists- saves space in my brain.) And animation- unless it's whiz bang CGI, why watch it in 1080p? It's cell animation. It has little to no detail. I'm not going to drop the extra scratch on a Blu-ray version of the original Scooby Doo cartoon.

Mr. Barclay with all due respect(...uh oh you know what this leads too) but I have lost all respect for you as a movie watcher, 480p comes no where close in quality to 1080p. But yes I know what you are saying not all films absolutely need to be seen in high def. I kid of course, if Ken is a God among men, and Aaron is his prophet, then Zac Barclay is.. um... well he's something

Most up-converters bump it to either 1080i or 1080p, depending upon what the monitor can handle.

I have a Return of the King DVD floating around somewhere. Not extended edition, though. Saw just kind of sticks out and everyone who sees my collection is like, "Oh, hey, gore movie right next to Powerpuff Girls. You're awesome."

I wish i could take a pic of my collection... but since i moved country my dvds are in a big wallet thing and a 100 disk stack (one of the ones that comes with dvd r's). So doesn't look so impressive anymore
