I love that show. It's very funny and very underrated.

I think Dr. Katz was WAY funnier.

I miss Dr. Katz!

A friend and I were watching a comic fund raiser on Comedy Central. It must have been pretty old because Dr. Katz was on it. We just started talking about how histerical that show was and how much we can't believe it's not on anymore. Strangers With Candy? Ok, I understand. Dr. Katz should still be on!

It has been off for a while. One of my psych professors in college used to make tapes of it, and you could borrow them overnight. I am pretty sure I have seen every one.
Strangers with Candy was so terrible I only saw one episode. Comedy Central is advertising some new "cop" show right now that looks somewhat funny. At least the scene where they throw a cop a suprise party and he shoots someone instead (loses a lot in translation).

Yep. I think at least a couple of the actors on the show are from The State. Remember that old Mtv sketch comedy series? I used to watch that show like mad.

I never saw the State. Most of the MTV shows I have missed. It may be latent bitterness for the no music all shows.
Lately I have been watching that Trio channel quite a bit. They have some odd stuff on, like Secret Rules of the World. Sessions at West 54th is great for the music aspect. Henry Rollins was on the other night, and he is always entertaining.

I am another Mtv hater. Actually, I have a picture of me standing in front of Mtv Sudios flipping it off -- I think it may be my latest and final avatar. The State was on in the very early phases of Mtv changing to a not-only-music channel. It was like, that show and Liquid Television (the cartoon variety show that spawned Beavis and Butthead), and on yeah, Beavis and Butthead. My point is that it was pre The Real World -- the true downfall of that channel.
I've never heard of Trio. I don't have cable at home. The titles alone of the shows you mentioned sound cool, and you're right; Henry Rollins IS always entertaining, whether he's waxing philosophical about current political regimes, or he's screaming like a maniac while driving a Hummer through the desert in Jackass: The Movie.

I think you should use the flip-off MTV as your next avatar. That would be darn good fun. I need to find a action shot myself, since somebody decided to remove Jessica Rabbit from that server. Bummer.
Trio is sort of a wierd channel. It seems to have a lot of BBC stuff.
As for Henry, I love his spoken word acts. Have you ever read any of his books? Black Coffee Blues has been on my top shelf (reserved for favorites) for about 5 years now. It is the best bathroom book you could ever buy. Check it out if you have not already.

Speaking of Liquid Television, remember the animated shorts with two men facing each other, one man punches the other, then that man takes his turn, with the shots becoming increasingly more vicious? It is a cartoon by Bill Plympton, who has had a couple of others on MTv. These shorts are actually part of an animated movie called The Tune . I highly recommend this movie. The concepts are incredible, and the music is great. He did a newer movie called I Married a Strange Person , but I haven't seen it yet.

If you look to your left, at my avatar, you'll notice it was done by none other than Mr. Bill Plympton. Small world, huh?

WOW, THAT'S RIGHT!! Very cool. Are you a fan of his work?

Very much a fan. I saw "The Tune" and "J. Lyle" in the theater, and am waiting for "Mutant Aliens." Gotta respect the first guy to ever hand-animate his own feature film.

I am glad to see I'm not the only one that thinks MTV sucks since they stopped doing just music videos with a little music news thrown in there every once in a while.

I would like to jump on the "I hate MTV bandwagon". Anyone over the age of 18 who watches MTV should have their TV priviliges revoked.

That show sucksand i thinkits one of the worst shows on carton network. The show is pointless and its not even funny. Not even a little bit.

I just can't jump on the bandwagon. Don't get me wrong, I never watch MTV, but MTV2 and MTV-Jams are two of the most watched stations in my house. MTV-X was super cool also. It is a shame that they did away with it.

There isn't much wrong with MTV2. I can't blame them for the lack of video creation by some of my favorite bands. What the heck was MTV-X?

MTV-X was where they just played rock. It was great. If you were watching at the right time, you'd catch a Ramones clip. Of course they showed a ton of crap too, but that's when you'd turn the channel. I was really surprised at the stuff they had on their.
I turned it on one morning (I'd always flip between that and SportsCenter before work) and it was gone. No explannation. Just crap.

I guess that rock wasn't as big of a draw as hip-hop, so MTV-X was dumped in favor of MTV-Jams. Sorry that you missed MTV-X Zens, it was very cool. Certainly some [censored] on it, but overall the best video station I have ever seen.

I agree, but there was some stuff I saw on there that was god-awful. That 'Butterfly' song by some guys whom I can't remember. I remember thinking, "That song is so terrible it's going to be huge." And of course, by the summer, it was.
And little girls would sing that "Sid and Nancy" part, and they didn't even know who Sid and Nancy were. I wanted to punch a lot of people that summer.

"Butterfly" by CrazyTown? I think that is the town five miles down from Whiskeytown, where I live. I avoid CrazyTown, it's just plain crazy.

I only like about an hour of MTV2 a day when they play "retro" videos that are awesome but not that old. Plus VH1 is so much better less of this rap music.

Do any of you Americans get MuchMusic, Canada's music station? They are pretty good, they play alot of music, and don't have too many shows.

I get MuchMusic/Fuse. It is about as good as MTV2. I can't really pick a favorite.
