What a waste.

I read something about this the other day. Nolan said everything which was in the script, he filmed and ended up in the final cut, so there wasn't anything to include. I think he said this had happened on his last three movies too.

What a waste.
But wouldn't it be the opposite of a waste since he didn't waste the time filming them just to not put them in the movie?

What other kinds of extras are on there? I was under the impression that they had to chock those disks full of cool stuff to give some incentive not to pirate the movies.

The extras on Dark Knight are weak tea. If it was any other movie I wouldn't have bothered making the purchase.

What did i want to see?
Something about Heath Ledger
Maybe talk to someone like Frank Miller or another Comic writer about the Joker and how they liked the movie
Gag Reel (All those people throwing punches are wearing rubber costumes and no one fell on their ass or cracked a joke?)
I would have liked to see a Feature on the Joker Makeup.
ON Set Documentry?
I still dont get why the included the IMAX stuff, I dont own an IMAX Theater

So, I received this movie as a gift the other day and it's the first blueray I own. It's pretty sweet but it brings up a problem I have with a lot of movies especially blueray disks. I need to be able to adjust the volumes for non-theatrical viewing.
See, if I turn off the lights and set up the movie it's awesome, just like the theater and the action sequences are loud and sound great. But if I just want to put a movie on in the background and multi-task while it's on, the volume is unmanageable. The sound effects and action are either way too loud or I can't hear the dialogue at all. I'm guessing there's no easy solution to this but if anyone has any ideas....

A Nolan/Bale commentary would have been nice too.
I wasn't expecting any better though, cos Batman Begins had almost the exact same set of extras.

Some Dolby mixes and ALOT of DTS mixes are notorious for this. Most of the time sound effects and music drown out the dialogue because they're sent to all 5 speakers, while speech is primarily coming from the center channel. This sounds fine in a large theater but not so hot in the average living room.
A couple of solutions that sometimes work:
-Switch your surround system onto simple two-speaker stereo.
-Turn your surround speakers down and your center channel up.
-If possible, set your receiver to a music setting. This tends to spread out the stereo spectrum and more evenly distribute the surround elements.
-Check if your system has a nightime/compression setting that automatically cuts the volume of overpowered effects.
Hope that helps.

Wireless headfones?

Thanks, I'll see if I can make any of those work.
Wireless headfones?
That works fine but is impractical for multi-tasking for the same reason that having the volume up.

Warner Brothers almost never put out extras on disks. I waited for years to buy Beetlejuice. 20th anniversary version comes out and it's "extra" was 3 episodes of the cartoon version. It's like the company hates money. ...That would explain "Catwoman" I suppose.

I have not even checked out the 2nd disk yet, except to download the digital copy.
Also if there are no deleted scenes, that explains why the flick is 2 1/2 hours long.

I was under the impression that the BluRay had more special features than the standard def dvd (which I own). I thought I saw a commercial that said the BluRay was "packed with over 3 hours of bonus features"

You know why the extras sucked? The inevitable extra special ultra edition.
I'm so original and insightful. No one else thought of that explanation. No.

I hope so, but Batman Begins had an almost identical extras package, and no special edition ever came out.

Was your second disc designed with an interface which resembled a comic strip? I couldn't navigate it. Didn't know which feature I was clicking on. I thought it was clumsily put together, and very awkward. Or maybe my disc was just defective.

That sure looks purdy, but the double-dvd itself is still the same old 2 disc that came out first time 'round. No new extras as far as I'm aware.

I can't remember. I only watched the extras once. They were pretty lame. The movie disc on the other hand is nearly worn down from repeated viewings.

Really? In that case, I'm glad I never bought it. That would have been a huge disappointment.
