For those who haven't heard yet, and are fans of Heavy Metal magazine and the '81 movie...Fincher is producing and directing a new animated Heavy Metal movie. There has been a lot of talk about it for a while, but apparently it's getting much more serious, with Zack Snyder, Guillermo Del Toro, and Gore Verbinski all showing interest in directing sequences as well.

Here is a link to more info + a video interview with Kevin Eastman, editor of the magazine. Interesting interview, I was glad to hear him admit that Heavy Metal 2000 was a disaster. I wonder if there's any talk about what bands would contribute.

I haven't heard/read any yet. Fincher has put down some great music cues in his movies -- NIN's Closer remix at the beginning of Se7en, the whole Dust Brothers score to Fight Club not to mention ending with The Pixies, and the soundtrack for Zodiac. When that movie ended, I didn't stop humming "Hurdy Gurdy Man" for a week. I'm really interested to find out what they're spitballing.
