I'm gonna copy Karmattack and make a post about music. But this post is about music and movies. What songs do you associate with movies? You know the songs you hear on the radio and instantly think of a movie it was predominantly in.

For me, when ever I hear "Sweet Emotion" by Aerosmith, I think of the beginning of "Dazed and Confused". Or when ever I hear " Layla" by Derek and the Dominoes I think of "Goodfellas".

Anybody else associate music with movies?

Tons!

Don't You (Forget About Me) by Simple Minds always gives me flashbacks of The Breakfast Club.
Just Dropped In (To See What Condition My Condition Was In) by Kenny Rogers makes me think of The Big Lebowski

...ooops -- time to leave work. More later.

That weren't written for the film, or specifically remade for it, I am guessing.

Lollipop - "Stand By Me"
Dont Fear the Reaper - "The Stand" (you'd think Halloween, but nah
Mr. Sandman - "Halloween 2"
Girl From Iponema - "Blues Brothers"
Please Please Give Me What I Want - "Ferris Beuller" (the museum)

Ah, so many more...

Ya, I guess that's what I'm saying. So nobody put " 'Lose Yourself' really makes me think of '8 Mile' ", otherwise there will be consequences and repricusions

Send me On My Way(or whatever it's called) by Crusted Boots, makes me think of Ice Age.

Stuck in the Middle With You, Steeler's Wheel, makes me think of Reservoir Dogs. Booowoooo.

Boys, Britney Spears, makes me think of Machine Gun Jubbleees baby, yeah.

The Safety Dance, Men Without Hats(or was it Men at Work?), makes me think of BioDome.

It's ok Code6, even though you got it wrong you can dance if you want to, you can leave your friends behind
'Cause your friends don't dance and if they don't dance
Well they're no friends of mine.

Why must you all mock me?

Zens_7s

I was not mocking you, I was offering you a show of support. Like a good training bra, you never know I am there until things begin to get too big to handle alone.

Because you have a sense of humor, so we know you won't take it the wrong way and go "Slingblade" on us.

Anyway!

You've Lost That Lovin' Feeling - Top Gun
Teenage Dirtbag - Loser (reaching on this one, I know)
Paint it Black - Full Metal Jacket
The End - Apocalyspe Now and Apocalyspe Now Redux
Tammy - Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas (gotta see it!)

Dark Train by Underworld reminds me of Trainspotting (it's not on the soundtrack...it's the part where Renton is having the nightmare with the baby crawling on the ceiling)
Escape From The Prison Planet by Clutch brings back Escape From L.A.; so does Sweat by Tool
Radiohead's Everything In Its Right Place harks of Vanilla Sky

In reverse, Old School makes me think of the A-Team theme song......mainly because I want to get in on the fun of rampaging around in a big black van

I love that movie. That is a great scene. To turn this threads vision around a bit... whenever I see that scene (with that song) I think these words, from Emily Dickinson:

That I did always love,
I bring thee proof:
That till I loved
I did not love enough.

That I shall love alway,
I offer thee
That love is life,
And life hath immortality.

This, dost thou doubt, sweet?
Then have I
Nothing to show
But Calvary.

Sniff...

Ah, Trainspotting! Lust for Life. Screw all of htose commercials using it now. I hear them try and shill some ware on me, all I can think is "what does their product have to do with kicking heroin?"

Speaking of Danny Boyle, My Baby Just Cares for Me from Shallow Grave.

I can't hear "Got Me Wrong" by Alice in Chains without thinking:
Hey, you seen a set of keys around here?
No time for love Doctor Jones.

I definitely agree with Zens, "Didn't I blow your mind" is a great film-memory song.

Karma, do you actually here "I just dropped in" frequently? I have only ever heard it in Lebowski.

karmattack

I wouldn't say I hear it frequently, but I've heard it outside of the movie. We have an abundance of classic rock stations around here.
