I don't think Kevin is currently on any type of diet. Not judging from his last few Smodcasts anyway.

He mentioned recently he had went back onto the shake diet.
No idea what it is actually called mind you.
....oh a quick google seems to say "optifast" and that does ring a bell from one of his books.

God. Why? It's a miserable fucking existence. I know the tubby bastard doesn't like to exercise, but a half hour bike ride or something every day would be much more enjoyable than foregoing the sweet succulence that is solid grub.

True, but bike riding is uncomfortable and tough when you're tubby. And doing it out in public is out of the question. Thus you have the stationary recumbent bike. I prefer the elliptical myself. My local community gym has big screen tvs and headphone jacks in the machines. Pretty sweet for something mostly paid for by tax dollars. That bitch Kevin Smith could afford some of that in his house I bet. :)

Yea, and i'm looking for it because about 6 weeks ago I broke my knee, and I used to work out on almost a daily basis ( I play tennis) and for the past 6 weeks i've not been able to due to the broken knee and i never realized how bad for me the food i was eating because i've packed on the pounds and since i'm still not allowed to excersize, I was thinking that the shake diet would work for me.
thanks, im checking out optifast now

Erm...if you are getting over a bad injury you will need to keep taking food.
Simply don't eat as much shite as you have done...simple as!

well according to the site the "shakes" have all of the recommended vitamins and servings of grain, dairy, vegg and fruit and protein.
It is true. the shakes will have everything you need. Seen people go on worse diets and survive....mostly (see 'third world').
Most shakes pack in some fiber to keep you from crapping like a sno-cone machine. And your body will always find what it needs from food (even shakes) if it needs it and it is there.
But, I think what most people are getting at is; eventually you will relapse. No shake is going to replace that t-bone steak or bag of doritos.
I'd recommend supplementing one or two meals with the shake if you must go that route. If one or two meals a day are regular meals, you still lower a bit of you caloric intake and keep yourself from lapsing. Most people will tell you (correctly) to make your evening meal to most conservative; and the closer you have it to 6 p.m. the better. Farther on in the evening the more your body is looking to store up. I dropped 10 pounds in 3 months keeping my evening meals monday through friday conservative (=salads, fish, powder/shake things, etc) and eating whatever I wanted on weekends. And I eat like a dog at the dish.

For most people relapse is imminent, but back when I was "pro" for tennis I was only allowed eating these gross, flavourless shakes that were chunky and on occasion made me vomit as my only source of food. Somehow I survived off of that for 2 years because my drive is somewhat crazy. And it would be near impossible for me to cut down my meals because if I stop eating before i'm full, i'll get disgustingly hungry in an hour or so and eat way more than I can handle. ( order pizza, like 2 larges and wings... and cheese bread) Thats why I hope these shakes are filling..
Not sure about the shakes fatass is using but, I use to get shake powder from korea that certainly was filling. they would add powdered soybean and seaweed. It would give you the same full feeling as a meal. I use to add a bit of chili paste to them to give em a bit of flavor. That was alright. If there is a Korea town in your city; odds are they will have these diet powders there.
And one time, I added tomato juice and vodka...........to be honest I prefer a more "Dean Martin" approach to liquid dieting.

I have used a few different meal replacement shakes that are filling and really good. I used BSN's Syntha Six. It has the best flavor of any of the shakes I've tried. It is more of a protein shake, but that with a multivitamin and you'd be good to go.
