How's that?

i've been eating......Mott's Fruitsations Popsicles, which I bribed a flight attendant friend to bring back on their Toronto flight. It is hot as hell in hong kong now. And what's worse is I have to horde them. Hong Kongers for some stupid reason enjoy red and green bean flavored popsicles. I'm not kidding. bean flavored popsicles...........there is no god. Every damn 7-11 here has a full stock of them but no orange/lime/grape flavored popsicles. Here are the choices: Red Bean, Green Bean, Black Sesame, Taro, and Pineapple. Not sure how pineapple beat out frozen turd but, there you have it.

Darwin where is you scythe when we need it?

There is no Mexican fast food chains, this is true.
There are a couple of Mexican/Spanish restaurants. But they would be of a higher quality I would assume.
The Tasty boys really wanted to take me to a Taco Bell too but we ran out of time.
I'm back for at least a week in November so I'm sure we'll take a visit.
That is, if The Duck doesnt do so first at the end of next month ;)

Just had some homemade tacos today. there is no taco bell over here....unless you walk on to an Army Post or AFB. No offense; but I'm not missing it.

But, then again there is not much in the way of decent Mexican restaurants around asia at all; and that truly sucks. The fancy Mexican restaurants in hong kong are no better than Taco Bell and possibly worse. But, I can get hard shell tacos and most the supplies to make it myself so not too worried. I make a decent Chili Verde.

I imagine it's this way in most of the U.S. but we have at least 4 or 5 sub-genre of Mexican Food in excessive abundance.

We have the classic cheap Taco Bell, Del Taco stuff.
The slightly higher end Taco Time and Taco Maker.
The more authentic stuff that caters to the hispanic population.
The 'baja' Mexican/Californian like Costa Vida and Cafe Rio.
The high-end, yuppy places that get rated by Zagat.
And my personal favorite, the 2-for-a-dollar roadside taco stands.

I'm not really that into Mexican food, it just surprises me how freakin' much of it we have here.

We've got Taco Bell and Taco Johns (or Taco Juan's, eef you wheel). Then you hover in the area of what I like to call Subway for tacos with Pablo's Mexican Grill and Pancheros. Then there's the tex mex crapola extraordinaire of Carlos O'Kelly's...I think I'd rather stick to the 3 for a buck hardshells at Jack in the Box.
My personal favorite is Pablo's. They make to order a 2 1/4 lb burrito that is to facking die for. And, top it with three scoops of salsas that are fresh made there on site. Good grub.

sonofabitch. Warranty is running out on parts. This is my fear. just broke the first bone in my body and going to the hospital gives me the heebe-jeebes.

They gave me crap pain killers (dologesic). Ones that come with antiacid tablets.....so I tossed them in the trash. who the hell wants to take something that will eat a hole in your stomach? borrowed a friend of mine's left over pain killers from when he shattered his wrist. Only. Take. At. Night. I don't know what they are but, they knock you the hell out (and give you awesome dreams).

Do you guys have chinese restaurants that double as mexican restuarants?

By my house there's a place that is called "Great Wall" as well as "Taco Time". The menu is doubel sided, mex on one side, china on the other. I find it hilarious.

Mostly the past week I've been eating dunkin donuts... I love those little pizzas.

We have a wierd hybrid here in North Texas. All the donut shops that are not run by major chains are run by Asians. So there are always signs saying
"Egg Rolls and Donuts". In my mind those two things don't go together at all. My friends here think that is normal and think that the Asians invented donuts.

My Girlfriend and I used to notice all the little shops in L.A. are hybrid. Our favorite were the O.K. Chinese Pizza Donut Mocha places. All of these words would be in neon in the window.

When it comes to donuts; asia is the last place on earth with the distinction of creating them. Think of a sweet donut......filled with curry or tuna. there's your asian donut. Oh, and lets not forget the delicious taste of red bean while we're at it!

There are 3 crispy creams in all of hong kong and every westerner knows exactly where they are.

Asian doubles are usually western things like Pizza and Chicken or Pizza and Cheeseburger.......or Pizza and anything. Have not seen any asian restaurant combos here like thai/vietnamese or something. there seems to be a fierce desire to keep the asian cuisines seperate. even the chinese prefectures don't mix. you'd never see Shanghainese or Sichuan and Cantonese together.

Then there's the western chains with weird local crap. Like KFC sells rice and egg tarts (which are not half bad). McDonalds sells rice porridge and elbow macaroni as part of their breakfast set. And they have a "McSpicy" burger that was crappier than McRib sandwiches.

The corporate test McDonalds was right by where I went to college. They had ALL of the crazy crap that they were thinking about coming out with somewhere else. I have eaten some of the wierdest things that should never be McDonalds product.

The one thing I did actually like was their chicken tacos. They weren't bad.

So TRUE! As a child I lived in asia for a while. I learned to never trust an asian bakery. Red beam paste looks surprisingly like chocolate.

I was a fat kid, and I loved chocolate, and i cried the first time I bit into what i thought was a delicious succulent chocolate pastry... and got bean paste.

Maybe our government can ask them for a loan?

A week in Sydney with only a 5 minute walk to Pyrmont Seafood Market.

I pretty much ate seafood breakfast, lunch and dinner. It's damn fresh and fair priced. I'd pay twice as much in Hong Kong for the quality of seafood I was consuming in Sydney.

Breakfast of Champions: Grill Lobster, dozen Bay Oysters raw and a dozen boiled king prawns with a glass of V8 juice and chips (french fries). Awesome!

Here's a list of what I managed to consume in a week there:
Mussles
Mud Crab
salted sardines
squid
oysters (pacific and bay)
baramundi
tuna maki
sea trout
white bait
pippies
bay bugs
lobster
king prawns
garoupa

I was fasting from April 1st to the 21st. We couldn't eat between the hours 12am and 12pm. Then we were on a restricted diet between 12pm and 12am. No white rice, no bread, no cheese, no red meat or pork (I already don't eat those), no fried food, no sugar.... It was very trying. But I made it. OH, and so sex (I failed that horribly).

I unintentionally went without sex for 10 days a week and a half ago........brutal. that's as close to fasting as I ever want to be.

I'm impressed on the not eating from 12 a.m. to 12 p.m. But, doesn't that go against metabolism? I was told that from the time you wake, you have about 8 hours before you should stop eating (ie something like no eating from 6 p.m. to 8 a.m.) A few of my friends say your metabolism slows down as the evening comes.

It feels very weird now that I can eat earlier. During the fast, my body was determined to wake up at 12pm so I could eat. I think the motabalism thing is very right, because its been kind of hard to digest my food since I was fasting.

I've fasted twice in my life. Once in the sixth grade and once last year. The fasting was difficult to say the least. From Sunrise to sunset everyday for a month, no food, no water, nothing consumed. If I wanted to wake up early to eat, It would have to be around 6 o'clock or earlier. To be honest, the only thing that made it so difficult was no water. I can go without food for that long, but not having a drop of water made it very difficult. However, when the time came I would chug down a big bottle of water and it was the most delicious water ever.

It's normal that I eat crunchy PB right from the jar, right?

I've been eating a lot of vegetables, as is the norm with me. It also happens that vegetables make me toot. I counted, last night, from 6PM to 2AM, I farted 47 times. During the day, however, I don't rip ass at all, but like a half hour after I eat dinner, and a large helping of vegetables, I just turn that shit on.

This week I've grilled almost every day. I've had tenderloin steak, Burgers, ribs, sirloin, and brisket, all in the name of cleaning out a freezer. It's been an unhealthy week for me.

I bought lots of mini pork pies to scoff on my last couple of days off before I have to go back to a job I hate more and more as the days go by.
