It's like a professional performance.
Brilliant!

I'm going to say Road Trip is the greatest movie ever, just so I can post this. It makes me giggle:

Agreed.

Howard Hawks is such a directing powerhouse, and Paul Muni's central performance gets better and better with each viewing.

Easily the best Pre-Code era gangster movie ever.

I've never seriously answered this question, so I will. It's Shawshank. Any other answer is wrong.

Closely followed by Glitter, of course.

Serously, I'm with Affleckie. Shawshank is the perfect movie.

Not so seriously... Strange Brew has my vote. Max Von Sydow is in it so you know it's good.

I can't follow the rules and name only one best movie. For me, thats quite impossible so....
Pulp Fiction, Lock Stock & 2 Smoking Barrels, Fear and Loathing In Las Vegas

Well this sure isn't viewaskew. people would be rabidly throwing up kevin smith titles and spewing on the rest of us for foresaking our savior.....

Best movie ever.......Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.

or as I call it "James Bond 101" (and if you don't know what I mean by that go look up Ian Flemming......you 'tard).

Flying race cars, gadgets, head strong women with embolding names like "Truly Scrumptous," candy, money, bad guys who try to kill in imaginative ways, Benny Hill, guns, violence, and the only Disney children's film that unapologetically says the word 'ass.'

You see it as a child and love it (unless you are again, 'tarded). It is still watchable as an adult. And you would proudly introduce it to your kid. Yes, say it, ageless awesomeness.

Every damn life lesson is packed into this movie.

I liked it as a youngster, but it was probably due to the fact that I had obtained a copy of what was, at the time, a banned film. I have enjoyed it less and less with each subsequent viewing, and now it just annoys me.
...Lock Stock & 2 Smoking Barrels...

I agree with Phitzy: Cock, Nock and 2 Smocking Rock was not impressive. The comedy is standard issue UK "tough guy" humour (Lavender Hill Mob meets Trainspotting) and it felt like Tarantino emulation.

Snatch had all of that going for it AND it was boring. Guy Ritchie just has not made a film for me yet. I fear what he will do to R. Downey Jr. as Sherlock Holmes.

My favorite action movie in terms of choreographed gun battles is John Woo's Hard Boiled. Most gun battles I've seen are just a lot of shooting. This movie does the shooting in some serious Style. Even though they may have hundreds of bullets in their clips:D

Most of My favorites are well guilty pleasures but there a few that most will recognize as suitably brilliant, but goddamn the best movie ever is something that is hard to categorize do you mean script, direction, actors, performance all of the above what, Im not sure. If I had to choose however My most favoritist for best Movie Ever script, acting, direction, and the actors involved it would have to be Judgement at Nuremburg, not only is it perhaps one of the most important films ever, but also so emotionally gripping and has such an impact it cant really be overstated or even understated.

yes I took a departure from My normal bout of insensibility to talk about this but no worries Im back to normal now.

Zardoz: The gun is good.
Exterminators: The gun is good.
Zardoz: The penis is evil. The penis shoots seeds, and makes new life, and poisons the earth with a plague of men, as once it was. But the gun shoots death, and purifies the earth of the filth of brutals. Go forth and kill!

YES! YES! YES!
