George Carlin passed away on 22 June 2008 due to heart problems. He was a great comedian that will be missed.

I'm not sure what to say right now. I'm still pretty upset.
The world has lost a master of entertainment.

Fuck, this is pretty upsetting for me too.
So long George, you will be missed, but I'll still be laughing at you for years to come.

This is so lame. I was stunned when I heard the news this morning.
I know he had a (relatively) good innings, but even at 71 he still seemed so young and full of life.
I love the first 4-5 minutes of Life Is Worth Losing (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0-GJTdkOfIk). Not a joke per se, but I love it nonetheless.

Tis a damn shame. I always liked watching his comedy routines and watching him steal the scene in a movie that he isn't even starring in.

Damn. This guy is a legend. I will miss him for sure. I am very happy that I at least got to meet him once. I purchased his book "When will Jesus bring the pork chops" and he was signing copies for anyone who picked one up. Rest In peace man.

I figured Big Kev must have written a little something about George considering his working relationship with him, sure enough here (http://www.newsweek.com/id/142975) it is.
I acquired 7 George Carlin standup LP's that I have yet to listen to, I think I'll give em a spin this weekend.
He'll be missed. I wish I could've thanked him for making me laugh.
(Actually, I think I quoted him in my first post here.) So I should also thank him for helping me to break the ice.

I'm still not ok. It's like a member of my family passed. I don't know if I'll ever be totally ok. The man became everything I could ever hope to be. He was my idol...my...hope...my goal. I will miss you George.

Phelps also believes that the EF5 tornado that wiped out Parkersberg, IA was due to the fact that America accepts homosexuality and he pickets the funerals of Iraq war veterans because he thinks that their deaths are punishments against the United States by "God". The dude's about as 10-96 as they come. The scariest part is that he's got quite a few followers.

From the Wikipedia article - The church at Westboro which he leads has 71 confirmed members, 60 of whom are related to Phelps through blood or marriage or both.
eew.

There are groups that are set up solely for the purpose of surrounding the funerals of the people that Phelps wants to picket. There should be no worries.
