Anyone see it yet? Going tomorrow morning...
I've heard good things.

Seen it yesterday. Compared to the last Hulk I thought the movie was much better. But for some reason, I don't know why it was better? Maybe it was because it seemed like they made it alot like the comics...I dont know!:o

The casting was the best part of the movie. Tim Roth is one of my all time favorite actors and I think he had the edge over Nolte in the first movie (and Nick Nolte was the best part of the first movie by far). So yeah, I think this Hulk was better than the first one but still... Not Incredible...
;)
I don't know what is wrong but it just seems that Hollywood just cannot provide a solid (Iron Man or Blade level) Hulk movie...

This really isn't a spoiler, but just in case...
**** SPOILER ****
Would anyone have wanted to see Capt. America (http://judao.com.br/blogs/hollywood/2008/06/10/exclusive-captain-america-on-hulk-the-real-deal/) and Spidey (http://moviesblog.mtv.com/2008/06/12/spider-man-meets-the-hulk-the-cross-over-that-almost-was-but-wasnt/) in this film?

Nice Antonio.
Marvel has made the movies very exciting now that they've decided to hold the rights themselves.
Bravo.

So...there's a remake of the remake? I knew I had seen previews for The Hulk like 3 or so years ago.

yeah I was little confused, one review i read gave it 2 out of 5 stars and so I was put off seeing it, but now 've heard some good, but I'm still going to be cautious and wait til the dvd.

Why?
Spend the couple of quid to see it on the big screen.
It's not going to hurt you. I can't wait to catch it!

I saw it and liked it.
I didn't love it, mostly due to the fact that everything that happens had been signposted in the spoiler-heavy trailers.
Norton pulled off Banner rather nicely (although I preferred Eric Bana), and Tim Roth is great in everything. All in all, a solid 90 minutes.

I wonder if Norton's cut will ever surface.
Would be interesting to see.

I would imagine there will be a special edition dvd cut.

I haven't seen the first Hulk film, so I have no basis for comparison but I really enjoyed it. Edward Norton did a great job. He underplayed it nicely. It was very nicely paced and never felt like it was just filling time and Tim Roth was cool but what's new?

I liked it a lot.
Action was gripping, plot was passable, actors did well.
I just heard abotu the whole Ed Norton edit thing.. this probably means Ed Norton won't do a follow up film.. too bad.
I never did make it to the theater the other morning...

I wouldn't be too certain about that.
Contracts often include sequels.
Thats a lot of money to break a contract for.

I dunno... Ed Norton comes off as a prima donna. I dont' think he'd do something just for money... I think he'd even pay a lot of money to get out fo it.
He did no press for this movie... which I'm guessing cost him a ton of money in possibel revenue.

Wasn't he forced to do the Italian Job due to contractual obligations? I think he did no publicity for that film neither.

What I heard, was that Norton and Marvel came to an agreement. Norton did not want the feud to be more news than the movie itself and that is why he did no publicity. Not that he was still angry about the film. So a second is possible I believe.

I watched Hulk last night to catch up; are any of the events in the first film mentioned in Incredible, or is it a complete reboot? (I was thinking it was a mixture of a reboot/sequel)

It's a complete reboot. Although this Hulk does not retell his origin outside of a clever introduction (think of how they started the TV series)
I watched it last night... LOVED it.
Exactly what a Hulk movie needed to be.
(SPOILER)!
I couldn't stop giggling when Hulk kicked Blonsky into the tree at the end of the second fight. It shocked everyone in the crowd and really showed how powerful and destructive the Hulk can be. Brilliant!

It's a complete reboot.
Not quite.
*SPOILER*
At the beginning of the movie, Banner is in South America, where he was at the end of the first one. Also Liv Tyler and William Hurt's characters are clearly affected by the events in Ang Lee's film (where they were played by Jennifer Connolly and Sam Elliott).
It takes the broad strokes from the first, but that's all.

I would assume that considering those broad strokes are from the comic book first and that his origin in the intro is very different from the first movie I think that you might be reaching a bit.

Overall I'm not a Hulk fan, so I can admit I went to see this mostly to see Ed Norton take off his shirt. It was watchable beyond that though, so I can't complain. Not by a lot, but by enough.

Three characters are left in specific situations at the end of the first film:
Connolly's character is disgusted with her father for betraying her trust and pursuing the hulk.
Elliott's character is still hellbent on finding said hulk.
Bana's character is on the run in South America.
When the second film opens they are still in those specific situations, despite being played by different actors.
How am I reaching?

I'm with Aaron on this one. I thought going in that it was going to make allusions to the first film, but watching the film I got distinct feeling that the film was a complete reboot.
The openign sequence, explaining how Banner becmae the hulk bears no similarity to the first film.
Whiel Norton is in South America, in the first film Banner was in the jungle working as a doctor, fighting guerillas and in the second film Banner is in a brazilian city working as a handyman. Callign that a continuation fo the first film is a bit tenuous.
And the family dynamic between BEtsy and her father, and betsy's father determination in catching the hulk are points to the story that even a complete reboot would have to touch on.

How is it, fine sir, that you can use a word such as "tenuous" in context, but have the complete inability to spell check your posts? ;)

Umm no its not a complete reboot. The Incredible Hulk a few years ago ended with Eric Bana in some South American forest. The new one starts off with Edward Norton being in the same region. So in a way it kind of resumed. What was the drama between Norton and Marvel about this movie? Anyway The movie is excellent. Don't be cautious and wait until the DVD. This movie rocked in every sense. Edward Norton did a great job, Tim Roth as well and Liv Tyler is just wonderful. Its worth it and I'll watch it again soon. I liked the first one but this one is much better by comparison.

The movie was written to start in Alaska. Not South America. That scene got cut out. That is one of the reasons Norton was pissed.

I liked it. I didn't love it, though. Some of it was brilliant and some of it was kind of... meh. Still, better than the last one. But after the massive awesomeness of Ironman, it was bound to be a bit less superduper. :)

Saw it this evening. Liked it. There was some good stuff in there. I really appreciated the homage(s) to the original series. See how many you can count. It will be a definite DVD purchase.

I love how Marvel is getting their foothold back for their own creations. The quality is much better. Also is anyone else noticing how these movies are sort of being tied together? It seems as though Marvel is planning ahead with some great ideas and I can't wait to see how it all unravels. I see good things.

They're all linking together for the Avengers movie.
