Had a quick search and couldn't see any threads devoted to this.

I seem to be one of very few of my mates who actually listens to these. I absolutely love them, the more on a film the more likely I am to buy it.

So wondering what are everyone's favourites?

Mines; in no order:

Ghostbusters
Lord of the Rings (all 3 films, all 4 commentaries on each..but especially the cast one)
Shaun of the Dead/Hot Fuzz and Spaced
Red Dwarf
Futurama
Family Guy
American Dad

They are all ones I like with dvds etc I like. I have noticed I can also watch something I don't like if it has a good commentary track.

These include;

Little Britain
Charlies Angels

and some others I can't think of off the top of my head.

I don't actually sit down and go "right I'm going to watch this with the commentary" but always put it on as I'm going to bed as I find it much easier to go to sleep to than just the dvd (I'm one of them people who must have a dvd/tv on to go to sleep).

Didn't look hard enough :P Old thread (http://quickstopentertainment.com/forums/showthread.php?t=311&highlight=cannibal)
Come on, it's only 5 years old. Sad that I remembered it.

I used to listen to a ton of commentaries at work. Instead of the radio I'd throw a dvd in and listen to the commentaries. Hell, I'd get bored enough I'd throw in Mallrats with the french soundtrack and try to guess where in the movie they are just by listening.

Edit: This is actually the thread I was thinking of. (http://quickstopentertainment.com/forums/showthread.php?t=863&highlight=cannibal) Also, five years old. Both have good suggestions though.

Ditto.

I'm fond of commentaries too, my all-time favourite being the drunken mess that is the Cannibal: The Musical.

The Lord Of The Rings are great too, but I prefer the Peter/Fran/Phillipa tracks. The three have a really cool chemistry, they are clearly really close friends.

I rarely watch the commentaries and don't ever let the special features play a factor in whether or not I buy a DVD. If I can buy one I like now, instead of waiting for the same thing, but with tons of special features, I will buy the stripped down version.

Last commentary I listened to was AVP - out of curiosity. The whole track makes it apparent the Director was hellbent on making endless nods to the previous films in the series rather than making a credible installment of his own.

Jerk.
