I thought this could be a place to throw up stories that interested us but we couldnt find time to report on.
Especially important at the moment as we're on hiatus.
NOTE: Could everyone please post a bit of info about the story they're referring too, rather than just posting a link, saves us all a world of issues.

This is an odd tale about a guy who has had the hiccups for 15 months.
He's about to go under the knife to try and stop it.
He doesn't hold the record (although I doubt he's trying to) apparently Iowa native Charles Osborne hiccuped for 68 years!

A 100ft tower made out of Lego bricks will be verified as an official world record, organisers hope.
Thousands of children and their families used almost 500,000 bricks to build the structure at the Legoland theme park in Windsor, Berkshire.

A dedicated Cardiff City fan has painstakingly recreated his club's FA Cup run on film, using the Lego men he used to play with as a child.
Trainee actuary Ashley Weaver, 26, spent more than 40 hours shooting two films with about 1,000 still photos.
The films - complete with replays and commentary - are on YouTube and have attracted more than 3,000 hits.

We're all going to die!
The world's biggest and most expensive scientific experiment has been hit by a last minute legal challenge, amid claims that the research could bring about the end of the world... ...The device is designed to replicate conditions that existed just a fraction of a second after the Big Bang, and its creators hope it will unlock the secrets of how the universe began.
However, opponents fear the machine, which will smash pieces of atoms together at high speed and generate temperatures of more than a trillion degrees centigrade, may create a mini-black hole that could tear the earth apart.

Man accused of assaulting 'witch' at Taft
Wednesday, October 8, 2008 6:08 AM EDT
By Michael P. McConnell, Daily Tribune Staff Writer
Suspect told police he was trying to purify teacher.
FERNDALE — A Ferndale man who attends Taft Education Center is accused of pouring a liquid on an English teacher and holding a lighter near her because he believed she was a witch.
"The suspect later told us he was trying to kill the witch by pouring holy water over her head," said Ferndale Detective Ken Denmark. "We confiscated two lighters from him and he was committed for psychiatric evaluation."
The suspect, Darin Najor, 20, faces a pretrial hearing Oct. 23 in Ferndale 43rd District Court on a misdemeanor charge of assault and battery. He was arrested and posted bond in the incident on Monday.
Najor threatened the teacher at the adult education school Sept. 11, police said. The liquid he poured on the teacher was nonflammable and the suspect carried it in a Gatorade bottle, police said.
The English teacher told police she had a discussion with Najor the day before the incident about "The Crucible," an assigned play by the late Arthur Miller set in 1692 that deals with events that led to the Salem witch trials.
Najor asked the teacher if she believed in witchcraft, police said. The teacher told him she did not believe in witchcraft and explained that the events in the play were a metaphor for unjust persecution, police said.
"The suspect threw his homework papers on the floor and declared it was all blasphemy," Denmark said. "The next day he came up behind her chanting what sounded like religious verses while she was working at her desk."
He poured a liquid over her head and was holding a green barbecue lighter, she told police.
"He said he was trying to purify the witch," Denmark said.
Najor ran from the classroom and the teacher, a security guard and a school administrator confronted him smoking a cigarette outside the school at 427 Allen, police said.
"The suspect ran at the teacher and said he was going to burn the witch," Denmark said.
The security guard restrained the suspect and called police.
Police say driver offered marijuana to pay for fast food (http://www.tcpalm.com/news/2008/oct/13/police-say-driver-offered-marijuana-pay-fast-food/)
VERO BEACH — A drive-thru customer at a fast food restaurant Monday offered something green to pay for his meal, but it wasn't cash, according to the Indian River County Sheriff's Office.
A McDonald's cashier called 911 at 12:22 a.m. Monday after Shawn Alexander Pannullo, 27, of the 4800 block of Second Street, Vero Beach, wanted to trade some marijuana for food, according to the arrest affidavit.
The cashier from the McDonald's, located in the 5000 block of 20th Street, provided a description of Pannullo's vehicle. A deputy spotted the car and found marijuana inside, the affidavit said.
Pannullo was charged with possession of cannabis and posted $500 bail Monday.
The report didn't indicate what Pannullo ordered at McDonald's or if he paid for the meal through other means.

The troubled singer was taken in for tests following a drink and drugs binge at the weekend, although her spokesman claimed the 25-year-old star had suffered a seizure caused by the prescription medication she is taking.
Right it was the stuff given to her by a medical professional.

I've always hated the prick. Agreed. It never ceases to amaze me how celebrities can still publicly complain about how hard it is to be famous without immediately realizing how horribly stupid and ungrateful they sound. Get over yourself you fuck. Half the world still doesn't know who you are and the other half hates you a little bit more every time you take a breath. If you don't like being a celebrity it's an easy enough thing to change. Plenty of artists and musicians stay true to themselves and are happy with their work without ever having to defend Britney fucking Spears or play to packed houses in Sydney.
Chappelle is probably the only guy I can think of who handled overwhelming celebrity pressure with some class. He never once complained about being a celebrity. He never once seemed bitter or ungrateful to his fans or to the media. He just did what he had to do to change his life and get it back under control. Dude ought to write a self-help book for other celebrities.

He's a hero of mine. The only sad byproduct of his actions is the scarcity of new material coming our way. I miss him.
You're right though, he's a class act from head to toe. He also happens to be the funniest man on the planet.

Exactly. People in all walks of life have nervous breakdowns or whatever you want to call it. Things just get out of control. But it's how someone deals with it that reveals character. Just compare his to someone like Martin Lawrence to see what I mean.

I nominate 20 gauge. hopefully, first shot will not be fatal and they will have to reload and do themselves again.
