Kev had a big book signing today in Dublin scheduled on his My Boring Ass Life blog.
It was part of his big UK tour to promote his Boring Ass Life Book.

Canceled.
No warning.
No mention of it.
Just cancelled.
We (me and Phit) had to call two television stations and the store itself.
None of them knew much of anything about what happened or what was going on.
Either theres a massive fuck up on his behalf by putting wrong dates, or non-existent dates, on his site. Or he hates me.

I figure it's not some disaster in his life or anything deathly serious as there would have been some announcement made I would have thought.

This, as you can imagine, annoyed me.

The inboxes were flooded yesterday with news of the cancellation of Kevin’s UK Forbidden Planet book signing. While we have not received any further information, the notice also seems to indicate that the entire UK trip has been cancelled, which would mean some other gigs and appearances may also be off. We have not yet received official word from View Askew on this, but it’s looking likely to be true at this point. Here’s that e-notice that many fans received:
SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT

We regret to inform you that the Kevin Smith signing event has been CANCELLED.

It was due to take place on Tuesday 16th October but Kevin has had to change his plans and is no longer coming to London.

We’ll inform you of any further developments here.

I still don't get how at no point Kev announced this anywhere.
This was litterally the only mention of it on any site that is associated with him.
Needless to say, there was no further report on it.
I don't understand how this would go under his radar for things to tell people.

I'm a little miffed, Big Kev is having a poker tourney here on the East Coast, but the buy-in is $400. It's not so much meeting him personally, I'm just dying to find a way to get in contact with the View Askew offices. "Zak and Miri Make a Porno" is now going to be filmed in Pittsburgh, and given my location and freelancer status, I want to make a serious attempt to get on that film crew in any capacity, even if its just as coffee go-fer. If Kev is going to be on the east coast for a few days, then perhaps I'll just stand outside the Secret Stash East for a few days wearing a "Will scrub balls for P.A. job" sign.

The only rumor I use to my advantage concerns how many calories are actually in a Guinness, gets people all the time (it is between Bud and Bud-Light, calorie-wise).
