View Full Version : Owen Wilson's First Public Appearance

Owen Wilson attended the Los Angeles premiere of his new movie The Darjeeling Limited on Thursday, his first public appearance since his suicide attempt in August. The actor avoided the red carpet outside the Samuel Goldwyn Theatre and entered through a private entrance, surprising guests and co-stars including Natalie Portman, Anjelica Huston and Jason Schwartzman. When Wes Anderson introduced a healthy-looking Wilson to the audience as "my best friend," he was met with applause. Huston later told reporters, "I have to say, I have a crush on Owen." Schwartzman added, "Owen is doing very well and he is with us tonight, and I love him."

They make the poor sap sound like Bigfoot.
Is a film premiere really a good way to make your first public appearance? That seems like an awful lot of stress for a guy who tried offing himself.

You started a NEW THREAD for this? You might want to step out and get some air. Be wary of the burning ball of gas in the sky. It's just the sun, but looking directly in to it will burn your retinas.

Well I could've thrown it into a thread about a completely unrelated topic, but I figured that would've led to pitchforks and angry villagers with torches. It was just a little something I read that I thought was talk-worthy, but now I shall hang my head in shame, and move to the next town over to give birth to my bastard child.

There is a thread called "...randomness" ;)

There is a thread called "...randomness" ;)

Is this really "random" though?
Had I wanted to post a thread entitled "Owen Wilson's Nutsac: Has Anyone Here Smelled It?" that's probably where I would've thought to put it.
Now go get some hot towels because I'm crowning.

It could've yes, but I hate to interrupt a perfectly good thread with related news. That just seems silly.

I wasn't aware that nut sack had a particular spelling since it's not really a real term, but a slang of sorts.

I guess it is a slang term, but it is still a sack for nuts, not a "sac" for nuts. I haven't done any Grammar Enforcing for a while, so I thought I'd start a little up again and try to get my love back for the boards. I've honestly been thinking of just up and leaving for a while (which some may have noticed from the lack of recent posts). Still not decided on if I should stay or go, but I just wanted to do some posts to get my mind off of the SAT I'm taking tomorrow.

I will be the first to join the nut "sack" camp. There is no such thing as a nutsac. There is, however, Nutella, which goes good on toast.
Good luck on the SAT's, and remember, if you don't score well, you can always take the ACT's, get a marginal score and get into ANY college in the midwest :)

I vaguely recall taking the SATs... 'Bout all I remember was that I out-scored the class valedictorian and he nearly had a stroke. (He didn't like me much to begin with.)

Anyway, good luck, BP!

The Leaving Cert. is the SAT equivalent over here (I think...). Man, that is not a group of tests I ever want to take again. Good luck. God knows I needed it.

On another note, the "sack" in which our nuts are housed is in fact spelled "sac".

I'm amused that a conversation about a suicidal person turned to talk of nuts.

Also this is a valid thread. We have like 20 Threads about Goddamn Football so why not this one?

Nice to know. Just got back home a little bit ago after taking the "What Hell Is Like" test. My parents drove me there (it was 7:30 and I didn't want to drive), only to have to come back to get my cell phone (which wasn't allowed in the building, even though it was off and my only ticket to a ride home) and bring my car to the parking lot. I then waited for around an hour and a half in a hallway that apparently didn't have air conditioning with around 100 or so other people. When it finally came time to test, I didn't even mind that some of the questions were EXTREMELY fucking hard, since I at least had a chair and some air conditioning. Then, after the 4 straight hours of tests, I went outside to find my parents parked by my car. We talked for a couple minutes, they went to see some friends, and I went home. Upon driving up to my house I realized I didn't have any keys to get in or a cell phone with which to call them. Thankfully, my kind neighbors let me use their phone to call my parents, and I waited outside and played with our pup until they came home with the keys, which was only about 10 minutes. This is a day I NEVER want to have to repeat in any way, shape or form. On the (only) upside, I now have enough cash to buy a CD, but our town can't seem to get a copy of Dethklok's album. I started to dislike the world in general about the time I turned thirteen, but now I think it's starting to hate me back.

I bow to thee kind Sir.
As far as Drillbit Taylor? I don't think it's going to be delayed.

I never took the SAT. I scored absurdly high on my ACT and it was a lock after that. Often I have wondered if my test was scored improperly by the computer but I am not one to look a gift horse in the mouth.

I may have to be taking my GRE soon and become part of standardized test land again.
