Just because a song was assembled in Pro Tools and there is literally no interaction between the various musical elements and performers, which leaves everything sounding like a couple computers playing various mp3's at the same time in a hermetically sealed room... that doesn't make it the end of music.

Oh wait. Yes. Yes it does.

I'll go on record and say any song by Ashlee Simpson. Whining with a scratchy voice is not an acceptable alternative to hitting the high notes.

Black Eyed Peas.
They weren't bad until Brett Michaels, er...I mean Fergie joined their ranks. Behind The Front and Bridging The Gap were solid albums.
Then of course they got a whiff of money and became pod-people.

Not going to get too into it, but White Stripes, Fugees, and Gwen all equal good in my book.

Now if you want to talk crap, I mean real crap, I am going to have to go with:

Madonna - American Life (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S3Z_Z899kPA)

Specially the rap part ~2:40 into the song, I'll be honest, want to cut myself when I hear it.

Why is Blake nekkid?

I quite despise a lot of the indie bands coming out of the UK at the moment. And it's funny how some of the new songs complain about mundanity and lack of any new sounding music, when they're the very people perpetuating that fact. Ugh...

Also, Avril Lavigne can chow down on donkey dong.

2) Moany + Cunt = Munt

Thats what I try to tell Black People all day, but no one listens. Kidding
Do I have a reason for mentioning they were white? They also listen to hardcore Gangster Rap too, and it makes me laugh. A Uppermiddleclass White Girl from Quincy Mass cant really relate with a West Coast Drugdealer who just shot a cop, or can she? Does Barbie have a Drive By Figure? I'm not saying you have to be a certain skin color to listen to music. I just like music I can relate to or have SOME connection to. Boston has more Country Stations than Dallas, and that makes me laugh.

I was just listening to "Margaritaville" in the car about 2 hours ago. It isn't a boring song. Of course, you probably didn't get too into music until the 90s, so I can see why you think that. Most people raised on 90s music can't appreciate the stuff that can actually be considered good music.

I don't consider it worthy of being recognized as a worst, song, eva, but the following lyric makes me itch:

"She's got a body like an hourglass it's ticking like a clock"

It's one of the opening lines from Misery Business by Paramore. What is it about this line that kills me? Somehow it seems clever, but the more I hear it the stupider it gets. Ugh, I am not the grammar police but, what is that? A double Simile? That doesn't make sense? Hourglass's don't tick do they? ARGH, maybe the stupid person is me for expecting more from the stupid radio.

I hate absolutely anything that U2 have ever committed to cd, vinyl, or recorded media in general.

But the song thats really getting on my tits right now is 'Rule The World' by Take That. Why the hell did this bunch of aging muppets return to plague us with more insipid tunes (and I use the term 'tunes' VERY loosely!) when they could be doing something else...like ceasing to exist!
I watched the film Stardust...I had to, Claire Danes is in it it, gorgeous woman...and that song was played over the end credits. It very nearly ruined the whole experience of the film for me!

Up until this moment I considered you to be one of the cool people. You are dead to me now.

Oh I, I just died in your arms tonight
It must have been something you said
I just died in your arms tonight

I keep looking for something I can't get
Broken hearts lie all around me
And I don't see an easy way to get out of this
Her diary it sits on the bedside table
The curtains are closed, the cats in the cradle
Who would've thought that a boy like me could come to this

Oh I, I just died in your arms tonight
It must've been something you said
I just died in your arms tonight
Oh I, I just died in your arms tonight
It must've been some kind of kiss
I should've walked away, I should've walked away

Is there any just cause for feeling like this?
On the surface I'm a name on a list
I try to be discreet, but then blow it again
I've lost and found, it's my final mistake
She's loving by proxy, no give and all take
'cos I've been thrilled to fantasy one too many times

Oh I, I just died in your arms tonight
It must've been something you said
I just died in your arms tonight
Oh I, I just died in your arms tonight
It must been some kind of kiss
I should`ve walked away, I should've walked away

It was a long hot night
She made it easy, she made it feel right
But now it's over the moment has gone
I followed my hands not my head, I knew I was wrong

Oh i, i just died in your arms tonight
it must have been something you said,
i just died in your arms tonight
Oh i, i just died in your arms tonight
it must have been some kind of kiss
i should have walked away, i should have walked away

You could have listed just about any song by eminem and I would have agreed.

You could have mentioned any song by any of the Pop freaks like Brittney Spears, the Backdoor Boys, NSuck and all of the others like them and I would have agreed.

BCR's Dedication (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8eB1Dtydh8M). Here's the recorded version (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c85OFCC9YJc&feature=related) - a little better than live. This was my generation's answer to the Backstreet Boys. I went to see them in concert alone when I was 10. I was trampled by a hoard of running, screaming demon girls. Lesson learned: Never bend down to take ticket out of sock after doors open when you're first in line. Always prepare by taking ticket out of sock BEFORE doors open and screaming girls rush in.

When I was 10 and 11, my idea of a hot guy was Ian Mitchell....I'm dating myself now.

Um..I'm having too much fun here...check out these costumes in this video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QMr4jV9pqjs&feature=related) (check out the thigh-high socks and shorty shorts).

Actually, I don't think the visual medium is Eminem's best mode of delivery. I kind of like some of his catchy stuff. He's got a face for radio, though.

nnoooo. noooo. NO NO NO NO. its become one of the worst songs because my older siblings played and played and played and played and played it. it used to be good to me. but now, its on my worst list.

this is exactly what happened to me with Sting. My brother listened to one album 10 times in a row one saturday and I lost it. When I hear the man sing I retch.

Rap or rapping is not a music genre, no more than singing is.

I would say that most hip-hop has merit, obviously some more than others, and just like rock it has some awful rubbish that is unfortunately also the most visible of its type.

When people say "rap" is shit or crap, or whatever, I can't help but feel they haven't opened their minds up to what it has to offer, as opposed to hating it simply due to it not being rock.

I was talking to myself the other day and we concluded that if it weren't for hip hop, we'd have never gotten laid in high school. Or something like that. I dunno. I'm high on cough syrup. Not that OTC shit. The good stuff with the codeine. Codine? Quodyne? Anyway, being the one white dude with an N.W.A. cassette made me pretty popular...

I was rollin' O.G. before everyone else. My first car? '83 Caprice Classic... with an Alpine. Yeah, I was dope, yo. My Roca Wear was funky fresh. Tougher than leather.

Just to be the fun police - this thread is about bad, bad, badbadbad songs, not genres. Ripping on a genre of music just makes people sound uneducated and close minded.

Unless the genre is Christian Metal, 'cause that genre of music is just backwards and stupid ;)
