When did VR fire Duff McKagan and Matt Sorum and replace them with two old ladies from Amsterdam?

Are they all on heroin and members of the Village People Fan Club?

All except for Slash.

Slash rocks. The others are just in it for a paycheck.

Anybody heard their new album? I really I doubt I'll buy it any time soon, but I'd like to know your opinions.

I agree. Although, didn't he do guitar for a Daughtry song?

At least he didn't play with Sanjaya.

True. But to answer Bizarro's question, I'm listening to it now. It's better than the first one since it sounds more like a band versus STP singing on GnR music. Gotta give it a few more listens before rendering a complete verdict.

I never even picked up Contraband since it has copy protection (I make car copies of most of my CDs, and put anything new on my mp3 player). I'll probably pick this one up eventually, but for now I can survive by downloading She Builds Quick Machines. I wouldn't mind to hear a complete verdict, though.

I cracked and bought it. I started listening to it this afternoon, and before I knew it I had listened to the entire album 3 times. Needless to say, I really like it. It's the best rock CD I've heard so far this year.

At first, I wasn't going to give it a favorable review as I didn't hear anything that was unbelievable. Then, I realized that I was letting my bias against Weiland (and my favoritism towards the DeLeo bros) affect my musical reasoning. So, I decided to just listen to the CD on its own merits and I found out that it's a decent CD. Again, there's nothing revolutionary contained in the disc but the songs do have their catchy/hooky moments. I am not enamored with "The Last Fight" as the band themselves are and "Can't Get You Out of My Head" is a by-the-numbers cover. However, "Just Sixteen" has some great Slash riffs and there's something subtle about "Gravedancer" that's I dig. Overall, it's probably a B-/C+ CD.

I gotta say, I think it's more of an A-/A for myself. I gave my friend a copy yesterday and he liked it just as much as I did. I just love how catchy this album is.
