I was watching Being John Malkovich the other day and about pooped a salt-covered pretzel when I saw Brad Pitt's cameo in that movie; I totally forgot about it. It's during the mock documentary for Malkovich the puppeteer, when Maxine is talking to TV cameras. As she gets done talking some weird puppeteering B.S., the camera pans to the person who was standing next to her and it's Brad Pitt with the best look of What...the...fuuuu
So my question to you is, what's your favorite movie cameo or brief supporting role?

Johnny Depp's cameo in Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare. "This is your brain on drugs, any questions?" Then Freddy comes out hits him with the frying pan and says "yeah what arer you on? Looks like an egg and frying pan to me."

I forgot about Hunter S. Thompson's cameo in Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas...
"There I was... There I am."

Good call. Have you seen the special edition DVD footage of that? There's a version where the real Hunter reaches out to attack Depp. I wish it would have made it into the movie; it's hilarious.

Oh yeah, especially if you like J Depp and Hunter. There are some cool extras on there like Johnny reading some letters he and Hunter exchanged. Plus, I really like commentary tracks and there's a track with Terry Gilliam, one with the producer, Johnny and Benicio, and one with the producer and Hunter. It's worth the cost just to hear Hunter rip the movie to shreds and howl like a lunatic.

Speaking of Pitt and Kauffman, Confessions of a Dangerous Mind. Add Damon to that cameo.
That, or the band Cameo. Word Up!

As long as we're talking old-school, Yoda showing up in E.T. is worth mentioning.

when was that?

It was actually someone dressed up as Yoda for Halloween. E.T. points to "it" and says "Hoooooooome." It's supposed to be a joke between Spielberg and Lucas I guess.

Best Cameo was Dick Warlock In Halloween 3. Dick Warlock was the stuntman who played Michael Myers in Halloween 2. Even though Halloween 3 had nothing to do with Michael Myers, Dick Warlock played a robot/terminator dude that squished a guy's head in. If you were as sad as me, you would find this exciting too!

I can't believe nobody has said this yet, you're all missing the obvious.
The best cameo ever has to be Mary Kate & Ashley Olsen in "Charlies Angels 2: Full Throtle"

Sorry, man. It's kind of like the occasional racist/sexist joke. You know it's totally wrong, but laugh anyway.

That's ok, I love racist jokes. If I can't laugh at myself, then somebody is going to. And If somebody starts laughing, I just laugh along, because I don't want to look like I don't get it. So I end up laughing at myself anyway.
