I was wondering i you had a passion for film (like me) would you take an oppertunity to go to film school after year 10 and then go straight into second year university for film?

And alos anyone who goes to Sydney Film School on this site reply to this thred and tell me how it is there.

Cheers. Nick

As someone who did 3 years in Television Production
Run, now, while you still can.
Take up carpentry or something.
Much better money in it.

Film School = total waste of time. The only people I know who graduated are total tools.

*cough* ahem?

Film school is all about what you put into it and you should walk out of it with contracts more so than knowledge. Besides that, you need to know the rules before you can break them.

Haven't I made it abundantly clear that I don't know shit? I mean, half the time I'm just talking out of my ass.

It's okay. I mean it's not like I graduated from the largest film school in the world that has a 75% drop out rate or that I did a 5 year program in 3 years or that 85% of its graduates work in the industry upon graduation (a claim no other film school can make). Oh wait. Yes, I did. :)

I was the Film embassador for the school. I can tell you on and off the record everything you'd need to know about film school. I taught grad students when I was there and I was accepted into the NYU Grad Film program, but I turned them down.

I would have thought nerd just implies someone who both wants to and succeeds at being the best in their chosen academic studies.
A road I half heartedly tried.

I'm still convinced the band are gonna make it

So I'm a nerd?Crap.
Does it have to count if I only use my math skills at my place of work?
