I pay for groceries when I need them, which is not really too often since I live in a dorm. My grocery buying doesn't go far beyond chow mein noodles (better than raman by far), 7-up, and easy mac.

We ate SPAM, hot dogs, tuna fish and mac & cheese casserole, and the ever popular salmon croquettes. My Dad worked 3 jobs just to get us that. But, hell I didn't know we were poor. I thought that's how everyone lived. Didn't bother me a bit. I didn't know any better. I didn't go hungry. You eat what you can afford to eat.

My house mate and I, lived on budget oven chips that were around 80% cardboard and cheap tinned chilli that was probably made out of dead weasels... this lasted for about a year... Good times.

That's the only way to eat it. I lived on Spam and ramen noodles when I was a kid. My mom refused to throw food away unless the mold spots on it was at least an inch big. I didn't exactly have a rich family. My mom only bought the cheap food so she could get change back on her food stamps so she could buy her smokes and booze. I guess eating spam isnt as bad as surviving on government peanut butter.
