I was wondering if anyone here was into Dungeons and Dragons, or any role-playing game of the sort. If so, I was wondering if anyone was willing to DM an online forum game here. Thought it might be fun.

I used to play some back in the day, but not anymore. Some of my friends still do. One of them posts here... maybe he will read this and join you. ;)

Hopefully. I have no life what-so-ever, therefore , I spent 16 hours a day, 4 days a week, staring blankly at a computer monitor. I love DnD. I play as many role playing games as I can find, but mostly DnD or White Wolf (Vampire the Masquerade, Werewolf The Apocolypse, etc...)

Sorry. I think the last time I DM'd a game of Dungeons and Dragons was sometime around 1984.

I don’t mind giving it a go. I've never played it - although I did have a game when I was younger called Hero Quest, which I enjoyed.
Is it something which requires me to be online quite often, of just every so often to continue playing? I'd prefer the later as my work doesn’t enable me to constantly be checking and posting in a thread.

I have not played in a year, but I really like it, especially Ravenloft (IF they even still have those mods) or some other thinking and acting. I hate the hack and slash adventures.
Hmm, as far as DMing, the only problem is this... anyone can say "I just rolled a 20"
I would be willing to DM a game though, but I would insist that dice rolls are either cammed live, or use a simple program I will write. (Something like a console proggy, where the results are broadcast across the network)
Also, I would want character creation to be done live with me. Besides that, I would love to DM a game. I have several I wrote, and have a few campaigns I have not tried out yet.
DOES THIS MAKE ME A NERD?
EDIT:
Anyone interested PM me here, just to get a number of characters. Tell me what you want to be as a character, we will use AD&D rules.
EDIT2: Even if there are only 2 or 3 people that want to do this, I am still willing, as the rest can be NPCs....
EDIT3: What the hell, even if Captain is the only one, I have 2 single person adventures I wrote that are dying to be used.
PM me here for contact info, I am all for it.

I already have a few pre made characters that I made with another DM that are regular characters, not godly or anything. I don't know about doing dice rolls over the internet, but I'd be willing to give it a try. I'm into any kind of role playing game, so, just give me the guidelines for a character, and I can make a new one. It would be easier if you just gave me an amount of points to spend on attributes instead of having to roll them out. That way no one would make a godly character with all 18s and claim they rolled all those stats. I usually either play rogues or rangers, once in a while I play a fighter class, but I usually never stray from playing elves. Also, will you allow prestige classes? If so, from what books? I have every 3rd edition DnD book ever written on my computer, including Forgotten Realms, plus all the Vampire the Masquerade books.

Forgive my ignorance, but this game sounds really complex! Not that I've ever played it, but I thought D&D was about; being an Elf Goblin, choosing whether to go down corridor A or B, discovering a chest, and then rolling a 4 or a 5 to defeat an Ogre??
That was always my perception of it! I never realised it had more to it.
Anyhow, If I can be any character, I'd like to be Jareth the Goblin King:

Bring back memories? :D
Found out you can download an old DOS version of the game if you're interested
Could be worth a try (http://www.abandonia.com/games/157/download/HeroQuest.htm)

That picture certainly does. :) I may have to dig my copy out from the loft. I remember buying a few expansion packs too which I never opened. I also was the Elf, but often swapped the model with this one, just so I looked meaner:

I also might try that DOS game!
Wasn’t there also an outer space version of this game if memory serves?
