I'm thinking of buying a second car, but it will most assuredly piss off some people in my family who think I've acheived way too much in my life.

Should I do it?

This is the car I'm think of buying...

Two door coupe, manual trans 5 spd, fresh motor with ported head, 1/4 race cam, korman intake, stainless headers, complete stainless ansi exhaust system. Professionally lowered with kit including: lower control arms, springs & bilstein shocks. Carbs are 40 mm Mikuni's freshly rebuilt. New Dunlop 205-50-15 tires less than 10 miles.

It would really burn their asses. :D

Instead of worrying about doing something to alienate your family over buying a car, worry about what kind of people are not simply thrilled that you have achieved so much in your life thus far.

I vote you buy the car if it is something that would make you happy. Don't apologize to anyone for working hard enough that you can afford it. Jealousy/envy is a really ugly thing and (for the religious sort) a sin.

Plus it could be practical because with you and your fiancee both living in the house a spare car can often really come in handy.

Oh, and you know my love of German Engineering... :-D

Just do it, dude. Life is too short to worry how others will deal. It's something you want, and it's a harmless want. As Zen said [and I can testify], a second car is a LIFESAVER. It doesn't hurt that it's so cool either.
