This show is usually placed in a late night slot over in England. Series five ended a few months back, and I got to say, the series finale was the saddest yet most brilliant piece of television I’ve seen in a while.
Just wondered if any folks across the pond can tell me what kind of popularity the show has over there and what are the ratings like?
It's one of FX's highest rated shows. haven't really heard yet anything about season six. Should be January over here.
Seaon Six starts in... three hours and 6 minutes... :D

Freaky. Just as I was logging in, I made a note to check the web and find when the next season of this glorious show was starting back up.
I’m envious. We won’t see it for a few more months. But enjoy it. No doubt it'll better the season before it.

Shit. I missed it last night. Unfortunately, there's no one to remind me about it, since I'm literally the only person in school who watches it (I just started at the beginning of last season).

I never really got into this show. Not sure why. I guess it just didn't peak my interest enough.

That makes sense. Like I said, I didn't watch until last season, but I thought last season was phenomenal.

There are very few cop shows that I watch. Being a retired cop, I get too pissed off when I watch them, because they aren't realistic. I think I liked the Law and Order shows because there really isn't a lot of focus on cop tactics and stuff like that.
I think the one I hated the most was JAG as it had military lawyers running around with guns, violating the Posse Comitatus Act on a daily basis, running combat missions, spying, etc. Total bullshit.
Of course, JAG did have this lovely lady in it....

I think I need to spend some time in the shower...BRB.

The whole Scientology thing is a turn-off...

Just seen a special 15 minute web episode (http://www.maximonline.com/ExclusiveShieldMiniEpisode/video/484.aspx?src=ad101), which bridges the gap between series 5 and 6.

When I first watched The Shield I was revolted, I truly was. Corrupt cops getting away with murder- literally. But, after watching more and more episodes, it became more and more interesting. Renegade cops cutting through the bureaucracy to get things done. It gets pretty intense. Thumbs up.

Just seen series six advertised. Starts next friday. God bless channel Five. Wahoooo!
For those in the US; was it better then season five? (no spoilers, though, please :) )
A friend of my managed to buy a bootleg box set in the Philippines that had seasons 1 to 5. He was hooked on the show and forced it on me so he'd have someone to talk to about it. Watching them in tandem made it addictive. It is a really good show IMHO.
But, I'm in hong kong and they never show The Shield. I'm S.O.L (shit outta luck).
Have not seen season Six yet but, will probably start hunting the net for episodes.

Just of of curiosity, why are you in Hong Kong?
Work basically.
I moved here back in the beginning of 1997. Hong Kong's a good city to work in.
It has a bit of a pollution issue but, low taxes, easy commuting, and awesome nightlife.
