I got rear-ended yesterday on my way home by an old lady. No damage (that I can see) but it really freaked me out (first car to car contact I've ever had). I pulled over and she followed suit, but then as I was opening my door, she drove up next to me, rolled down her window, and said "There's not a scratch on you. You're fine." then drove off. Luckily I got her license plate number just in case. So here is my main thought after all of this. What the fuck is wrong with old people? I mean, she didn't even give me time to respond before she drove off. Oh well, now I have another reason to dislike senior citizen drivers.

Yeah, she was not being too smart. If there had been so much as a scratch on your rear bumper. She would be in jail. Anyway, don't put that soley on old people. There are a tone of assholes out there who do that regaurdless of age. Some people will tear you up and then drive off.
Dude, that is what we (who used to be) in law enforcement call a hit and run. It don't matter how old the bag is, what she did was criminal. She's not only liable for damages, she's fled the scene of an accident! I'd press charges in a heartbeat. I wouldn't care if she's a grandma- she ought to know better. She probably shouldn't even be on the road.

I know, but there really isn't any damage. I got the license plate number in case I needed it, but it turns out I don't. Glad to know it was an official hit and run, though. I wasn't really thinking of pressing charges or anything, I was just extremely pissed off. No damage (at all) to my car, so I guess everything's all right. Also, it wasn't a huge deal because she was only going like 2 mph at the time (I was in the left turning lane during a red light when it happened). Thanks for the info, though.
Even if there is no visible damage, it's still a hit and run. I'd have someone look at the car. Last time I got nailed from behind, the lady hit me at 55mph and except for the bumper and the tail pipe, it looked fine. After they got it in the shop, turns out the frame was bent to hell and it cost about nine grand to fix. I don't know why they didn't just total the car... (It was a company car)

Once again, it was at about 2-3 mph. My car isn't anywhere near new (it's an early 90s Corsica) and my dad (who's in the Auto Parts industry) looked at it and said there's no damage. Plus I found out by loooking around at the bumper that it seems to protect against that kind of thing, (as long as it's not very hard) which is nice to know. I was just really freaked out because this is the first time anything like this has actually happened to me. Looking back at it, it was really barely a tap, but I was so scared I thought my car was ruined. Plus she interrupted my ridiculously good vibe, which included no homework for the weekend, my first day all week without a pounding headache, and "Let Me Go, Rock N' Roll" coming up at the perfect time on random from my Kiss Alive cd in the stereo. Oh well, I'm listening to "Let Me Go, Rock N' Roll" right now, so I'm pretty positive again.

(it's an early 90s Corsica) You ain't hurting no Corsica. The most dependable car that I've ever seen.

That's why I'm not really worried now.
