View Full Version : HAHAHA I hope this is "The Killing Joke"

"Straight from the floor of Comic-Con 2006 in San Diego, MovieWeb.com/SuperheroFlix.com has learned that Heath Ledger will be playing the Joker in the continuation of the Batman Begins franchise."
To anyone who cares, in other words people like me; this comes as almost suicidal news. If this is true which I pray on my already going to hell soul that it's not, then I am going to have to beat up a homeless person with a giant mallet just to satisfy any hope that I have left in the new trilogy of the Dark Knight. If anyone thinks that Heath Ledger would make a good Mr. J than I have this to say... go watch, "The Brothers Grimm", "A Knights Tale", or for shits n' giggles "Brokeback Mountain". Now why he was even offered the role in the first place is b.s. itself, he's no better than his "Knights Tale" co-star Paul Bettany, but at least Bettany is French, like the Joker. For those of us who have been waiting for this decision for a long time, we we're hoping they'd get the right choice and go with "Brotherhood of the Wolf" and "Oceans Twelve" star Vince Cassel. It's should be fun to see a Batman movie that was made with the peoples heads up their asses during all of filming.

No way. I suggest either Robin Williams or Jim Carrey.

Ok, I have nothing against Heath Ledger as an actor, but he is totally WRONG for the Joker. They chose him because he is a popular name that will draw in a crowd. Its all about making money. Any of the following actors would be way more suitable Jokers:
Crispin Glover
Willem Dafoe
Lachy Hulme
Paul Bettany
Jeffrey Combs
Andrew Koenig
Bronson Pinchot
Jason Flemyng
Jake Busey
I mean come on, Heath Ledger? What's next? Justin Timberlake as The Riddler? Reese Witherspoon as Catwoman? Sean Astin as The Penguin? Oh ya thats right, I forgot.....It's Ryan Phillipe as Two-Face.

Considering the AGE of Christian Bale I think he is a good choice. If they stick with the comic book Joker origin, I think he will work very well. Chris Nolan did an amazing job on the first movie. I have no reason to doubt that this is not a good choice.
which comic book origin is it, hasn't there been about a million of them?

I think they are going with the Frank Miller Year One origin.
Is that the one where the Joker was a prostitute?

I agree with your rebuke for Heath Ledger somewhat, but I think you're comparing him to the old school Joker from the first Batman movie. The new joker is totally different, he's not going to be a fruity tooty with make up. So Heath Ledger will actually fit the role.

I think I'm one of the only people who thinks Ledger will do a fantastic job. How can anyone of you write him off when you haven't seen him do the part yet? That's like telling someone they're not a good carpenter because you've never seen them hammer a nail.

I'm not writing him off, but I am wary.
I haven't enjoyed any performance of his that I've seen. That's all I can base my opinion on.
However since Begins was so damn good I'll give Chris Nolan the benefit of the doubt.

I think Heath Ledger isn’t going to make a very good Joker. He does not have the smart ass, bad ass side to him. Heath ledger usually plays the pussy character in a romantic, hero like movie. In me opinion Heath Ledger does not fit the Joker character.

that's why they're called "actors"
they "act" differently depending on the role they get

2) I heard Dublin is lovely this time of year.

Any woman who wants me to be their maid of honor should be holding her breath.
I think it's very funny that I am maid o' h and I didn't even know her last name when I went to get the dress. I informed my buddy that the next time he gets married (and he inevitably will because this is doomed for failure) that I am NOT going to participate in anything involving taffeta.

I've been in a wedding like that. I barely knew the guy, had hung out with him 5 or 6 times and then he asked me to be in his wedding. At the time it was weird, but now we hang out nearly every week, so it turned out not so weird. I think you met them, they are, as my boss likes to describe them, "The skinny guy with the not-so-skinny wife."

I did meet them! lol - I was pretty suprised when this one was sprung on me. Plus I am very concerned about having a batcheorette party for this girl. I took her to a music festival a few weeks ago.
I met Kevin Fowler (Texas singer/songwriter) expressly because she took her top off at the show (in the afternoon no less) and later had him sign her breast and draw a bunny using her nipple as a nose.
She got so drunk she got us kicked out. If there is one thing I do not approve of is completely irresponsible drunkenness in my town. It's too small and there were too many people that knew me.

I think it will be in Dallas. My only concern is the difficulty in getting her bailed out of jail. At least in Fort Worth the jail is in walking distance from my house.
