Are they any good? I mean, 3 members of GNR (including Slash), so they must be decent. Just bought all GNR studio albums and want something else good to listen to (mainly want more Slash). Anyone have their first CD and an oppinion?

Are they any good?
Put simply, no.

Media hype that turns out very underwhelming. You'll convince yourself it rocks because you spent money on it, but it's just kind of flat.

It's sad because VR sounds more like another Weiland solo effort than anything else. Although Velvet Revolver is not as bad as "12 Bar Blues". It just proves that the real glue of both GnR and STP were Izzy & The DeLeo Bros.

Cool, thanks for the info. Now I won't spend $15 bucks on another crappy CD.

I liked it, being the hardcore Gunner that I am. But if you want some Slash, def. get Slashs' Snakepit. Both albums are great. Also Izzy has a few great Solo Albums.

I saw them at Roskilde festival last year, they where awfully annoying I dont mind swearing but there is a limit and they generally where not good.

Instead of Velvet Revolver, you can listen to Motley Crue! I highly suggest Dr. Feelgood!

I don't like Motley Crue, although Dr. Feelgood isn't too bad.

All their songs sound the same...it was nice to think that they were going to be huge and an icon...but alas…aren’t.

If they had more variety and more 'heart' into it, they could have been awesome...and if the "IT" factor right now wasn't emo rock...

I still listen to the CD occasionally, but I was highly disappointed in VR. I should've expected it, really, since GNR and STP made two completely different kinds of rock music. Audioslave works much, much better as a supergroup.
