I thought the movie was totally corny.
It was kind of like -- the writer was trying to find something profound about killing the "bad guys," making it all religious and junk.

I bought it back when it was only released on DVD in Canada. There are some old threads about it here too.

The movie was pretty cool when it came out despite having a sort of indie/amateurish feel to it. The story behind it is that it was supposed to be released right after the Columbine attacks and because of that and the vigilante theme the release was cancelled. A sequel has supposedly been in the works for a long time.

No, the backstory to this movie is far more intereting than that. Actually, there is a whole documentary called "Overnight." The guy that directed it burned every bridge in Hollywood. They didn't even want to release the movie at one point because of it.

A guy brought it to his future brother-in-law's bachelor party at my house. After drinking a lot of beer and seeing a naked girl, watching that movie was at the very bottom of my to-do list. Gave up after about 10 minutes and never revisited it.
