Thanks, you guys (and the ones in the Smurfy thread). My girlfriend, sister, brother-in-law, nephew, and I went to my hometown parade, which I haven't done in forever. It was fun, but just a tad too long. We made sure to wait for the firetrucks since I was there with my sister who rode with me on the firetruck in my very first parade. We picked up my dad and went to the cemetary to visit my grandmother's grave -- the 4th was her favorite holiday and she never missed a parade until, poetically, she died on the 4th ten years ago. Then we went to a party that my dad's side of the family was having. I'd say the highlight of that party was when one of my aunts said she couldn't eat corn on-the-cob because of her teeth, prompting my other aunt to say "Want to use mine?" and pulling out her dentures. My nephew started to get fidgety, so my sister and bro-in-law took off. Crystal and I spent the rest of the night meeting up with some of my friends, having beers, and watching neighborhood fireworks. A good time was had by all.

I was gonna buy some big fireworks this year but pussed out at the last minute. I wanted to come away from July 4th with all ten fingers...

but next year...i'll be ready xD
