Okay, so last night I had a few beers with a few friends, and started bragging and then showed off my album collection. (As some of you know I am an album collector...)

I 'opened' and listened to 2 of my prior unopened albums.

first one is ELP "Welcome back my friends to the show that never ends ladies and gentlemen", yes, that would be the live 2 album rare collector....

second one is John Lennon "Imagine" not so rare, but yet unopened/

Now my question is this to Robbo : (Foghorn Leghorn, if you know as much about music as you say, your input is appreciated) and any other vinyl gurus............

How much money did I lose and/or how stupid was I by opening these prior unopened albums and listening to them once?

EDIT: On a side note, after listening to the ELP album I would have given a testicle to see them in concert.

Well I have a only one album (The Beatles Blue Album 1967-1970 on Blue Vinyl) that I haven't opened. It really all depends if these were original pressings or repressing in the 80's.To a vinyl collector the grade of the actual vinyl is the most important thing.Lp's were meant to be played not kept sealed up.I know I sound hypocritical but I have nothing to play said Beatles lp on.Just keep it pristine and you shouldn't have any worries. You could always buy the cd of the ELP album heres the link to it.

Hey

Thanks for the input, it was more a treasure of mine than anything, and I actually don't plan on selling any of my albums, cause then I don't ahve them anymore :) I was more wondering if the value tremendously dropped now that it is opened and listened to.
