Ok, for anyone who knbows me well (or has been reading my column from the beginning) knows that i'm a HUGE Weird Al fan. recently (like, last week or so) Al released a new parody on his website (http://www.weirdal.com) of James Blunt's "You're Beautiful" called "You're Pitiful". Good stuff indeed.
Come to find out, the song has been put on the web because, while Blunt gave Al permission to do the parody, Blunt's record label, Atlantic, won't let Al release it without coping a good chunk of the money made from sales (which isn't usually how it goes...the original artist will get a cut, not the label). Since Al put so much time and effort into it and didn't want it to go to waste, he put it up on the site. Free means he owes Atlantic nothing.
Now, since it won't be on the new album, there won't be a video for it. Well, until now. I had some free time this week and managed to shoot not one but two different versions of the video for this song. Yeah, i'm like that...
Firstly, for comparision, here's the James Blunt original (http://www.virgin.net/music/musicvideos/jamesblunt_yourebeautiful_hi.html)
Then, here's my first version (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5wYiEan_gTE)
Then, a second version (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h9zOqFtXsFE) (the "alternate ending" version)
Lemme know which one y'all like better. AND VOTE FOR THEM ON YOUTUBE!
Thanks, and i hope ya dig 'em!
