View Full Version : this really sucks...
I hate inner-ear infections.
The ringing is louder than ever.
I turn right, my body feels like it's going left...
...and pukey.
Fun.

That does suck. I just recently started getting ear infections. My doctor said that once you get the first one you will end up with them almost every time you have a cold.
I got them all the time when I was a child- my ear canal has a dip right in front of the ear drum, where moisture can colllect. But these inner ear infections... not so often, but man, they really fuck up my day (week)

I got one last christmas, and my ear rang for about a month. It was my first one, so at first I just thought I was going deaf...with ringing. I had to get my ear syringed multiple times (just a water jet, not a needle!) to get it sorted...horrible!

I use to get them all the time when i was little. I had to get tubes put in my ears twice to just clean out the canals. I havn't really had any problems since. The occassional earache, but that rarely happens.

You cursed me for giving you shit in the global warming thread, didn't you?
I haven't had an ear infection since I was ten. Now, convienently I have to go to the doctor this afternoon.
I say, "Boo to you, sir."

I had the hearing bones behind my ear drum replaced because I was plagued with so many infections as a youth.
/Had the operation done twice.
//Can hear just fine, sorta.

I've blown both eardrums with fevers of 104 and 106 degrees (F). Fun!

Reading all of these horror stories, I'm glad that I only have tinnitus in both ears from going to all of the metal concerts in the 80s and 90s. Good times...

Too long to post, most likely, plus it's fun pausing when I think someone's about to throw up. But it better be a good story if it cost me my sense of balance.

I have outed many a man. Sometimes from the closet. My closet, wearing nothing put a towel and a sheepish smile on the way out the door.
Okay, the inner ear infection sucked, but having to work on a holiday just freakin' blows- especially since there ain't a damn thing to do. All support departments are off- why the hell do I have to be here? Keep the chairs safe from random anti-gravity wells? Quality check a movie from 1947? (It was pretty good, but I could have thought of better things to do with my day... maybe invade a country or cahoot with big oil...)

Best wishes dude. Seems like there's some of that going around lately. By "that" I mean drama. It's the suxx0r fo' shizzle. (you know you're going to miss the incoherent new people the most). See you soon.

Dude, I am terribly sorry. These things are never the same, but I'm kind of there with you. My ex moved out six months after we broke up, and now is the first chance I've had to process the whole thing.
Fortunately I've got a good group of friends that are helping me through this. That's the best suggestion I can make is find some solace with your nearest and dearest.
And if you need any help, as Paul wrote, "the movement you need is on your shoulder." Figuratively of course. It would be really creepy if my hand were really on your shoulder right now. Oh God, how am I typing?

I'm glad that road block i set up worked (or perhaps it was all the construction on I-20). I hope everything ends up ok. I know that being together all the time after spending so much time in a long distance relationship can be extra tough... I don't know if that played into it at all.
Still, I hope everything works itself out, pallie.

Also, i assume you know that if you need anything at all, or even to just get away for the Weekend, Dave's B&B is always open in the 'ham.

That sucks dude, sorry to hear it.
I know how much shit you've been going through recently. I'd hate you to go on the lam because of it though.
How will I get my guns fix?! :(
Take time away if you need it, but know you will be missed.
Well, after much rumination this morning, I found that I don't need time off. If she's gone, she's gone. I'm getting too old to waste time worrying and fretting and feeling sad. Maybe that's denial or maybe I am a cold heartless bastard, but I've already spent two years waiting around. I'm 33- a third of my life is gone. I don't want to waste any more of it.

IMO that's really the best attitude. ALthough it sucks what happened, wallowing in self pity and drinking huge amounts of beer and listening to Journey is not the right way to be, well, maybe at times, but not now.
You are not a cold heartless bastard, you are just realizing that she is not worth the time you were about to waste.

Hey JK,
Sorry to hear about the drama, life can come out of no-where sometimes. So she realised that she was making a huge mistake, well good, she came to her senses. I am sure you have had a lot of time to go over the situation for yourself. I hope that whatever decision you make, you do it selfishly (and I mean that in the best possible way).
Also, 33? 1/3 of your life? Get real, at the speed you are traveling your lucky if you have half left ;)
