Here's a simple question, What is in your videogame console(s) right now? If you play PC games, what's the latest game you've played?

I've listed 3 consoles, because I've been playing games on 3 different consoles with people in the last 24 hours.

Right now, I have Zelda: Wind Waker in my Gamecube. I have Goldeneye in the N64 (ah, life in a college dorm). The other game thats always being played in my room is Super Mario Bros. 3 for the NES.

So, what are you playing?

The Warcraft 3: Frozen Throne beta has stolen all my gaming time (and it's new hero, the Pandarean Brewmaster, from which I derrive my keg-swining avatar), I haven't touched my Xbox in forever and I've been on a gamecube hiatus since winter break ended (and I found out I have to backtrack to get all the little symbols in Metroid Prime).

How sad is it that my console right now is the Atari 2600. i just never made the leap past the Sega Genesis, and about 2 years ago dug my 2600 out of my parents attic. now that being said. Yar's Revenge is in there. Best Game Ever. and I am constently on the lookout for Pitfall 2

On my Ps2 I am trying to do some stupid mission in vice city, some driving mission for the malibu club and I just cant do it.
Snes: Chrono trigger for the second time, altho I never completed it first time round
PC: Shadow of destiny.
GBA: batman vengeance
PSone: I am attempting to like Vagrant Story.

how in the name of Janey Maysus do you people get the money to play 4 consoles at once??
I've had about 5/6 consoles in my time (including the Atari, dont ever be ashamed of it man) but I've had to sell them to buy newer ones
I mean, I have a full-time job and Ive had my PS2 two years now but have only been able to afford to own 6 games in that time (one of them was bought for me)
Am I the only working class gamer left in this cruel, cruel world? /forums/images/icons/frown.gif

I'm a freakin' creature of habit...whatever I start playing, after 15 minutes, I have to throw in Vice City and be a sniper from the rooftops for a little while. Not even worried about completing all the missions, I just like to load up on weapons and pick people off. How can they say this game is bad for society?

But also, I've recently been playing Kingdom Hearts--Disney, yo! -- and BMX XXX. Got the cheat codes for the Scores stuff--yawn. But the head to head riding is pretty cool.

I kind of hate The Getaway. It feels like a 90s comic, all flash and trying to be too cool. And it's hard as [censored]. Looks good, but...eh, gimme Vice City.

Tiger Woods Golf is alright, too. Except I actually put better in real life.

I also suck at The Thing, but it seems like it'd be a good game if I knew what I was doing. I guess I need to spend more than a half hour a week playing to actually get good at anything.

What about that new Indiana Jones game, anyone have that? Is it worth getting?

You should buy a PS2 and get the Activision Greatest Hits game. It's got like 40 old 2600 games on it, including Pitfall and Pitfall 2. And Oink, of course. Complete with full Flock of Seagulls-era soundtrack, too.

Everyone NEEDS to get Def Jam Vendetta. It's an amazing game. Not only can you play as your favorite rappers (assuming your favorite rappers are DMX or Method Man or Redman or Ludacris or Ghostface Killah or N.O.R.E. or Scarface), but it's one of the best fighting games I've played. SO much fun.

It's from the makers of SSX TRICKY, which is my favorite video game of all time.

Can you play as THE FAT BOYS? Not all of them, just the middle guy. He kicked ass. So did Wonder Mike from SUGAR HILL GANG. Where is "Old Skool Vendetta: The Game"? That would rule. I'd beat down your Doug E. Fresh all day long.

In the PS2, Smackdown -- Shut Your Mouth! I had been off of this for awhile until I started watching the Hurricane vs. Rock stuff on RAW, and then I started a Hurricane asskicking frenzy. Besides, I had to do a create-a-wrestler of Goldberg...

In the XBox, DOA Extreme Volleyball. The game is way more playable and addictive than you'd expect, and the custom soundtrack just adds to the coolness.

And in the GameCube, Def Jam Vendetta. I'm not much on the rap, so I only recognize a few of the characters, but the graphics are great and the play-action is extremely good. It's the same engine as the N64 No Mercy, which is widely considered one of the best wrestling/fighting games for any console, but with top of the line visuals. I've been droppin' chumps non-stop...

I wanted Def Jam Vendetta so bad for the gameplay, but when I found out there aren't any match types, it just didn't seem worth it. I really need all the match types: ladder, cage, hell in a cell, tag team, TLC, hardcore, first blood, the more the merrier. That and there are no weapons or tables.
I'll definetly rent it to pull off the sick exaggerated moves, but I really need the scope of somthing like No Mercy to warrant a purchase.

As for selling consoles to buy consoles, that's a big no! I find that people who sold their old consoles buy them back later in life. Don't sell your memories, man! Besides, one day they will be fortunes because they'll be the collectibles of tommorow.
As for money in general, I began saving for the Gamecube and the N64 about 1 1/2 years before they ever launched. I still could never afford to buy more than 1 console per generation if I got games for all of them.

Oh yeah, if it seems like I'm a Nintendo whore, its because I am! Don't worry, I'm not crazy. I still love GTA:VC as much as anyone else. Still don't see much in Xbox, besides Xbox Live.

Haha Ryall, I'm playing kingdom hearts too but I needed to use hex codes to make any progress and I just completed agrabah but I noticed the heartless are gtting rikku on their side. The getaway is a poor mans max payne/gta thrown into a blender with a guy ritchie film. I know maybe one or two faces in deaf jam from the wu tang game on psone. Maybe they'll copy legends of wrestling and make legends of rap, u can have faces like biggie, tupac, snow and jam master heh.
Lastly I am playing through Smackdown 4 second time, this time I am on Flairs roster and I made a silent bob character who strangely has most of takers moves but a few others. anyway it was cool, bob just got a valentine present from Torrie /forums/images/icons/blush.gif , woooohhhhhoho

Eh, sorry to dissapoint, but not really. The whole characters-turning-into monsters thing is sorta random and testing them doesn't always work, same for the somewhat shoddy control scheme. It's not that bad of a game, but if it worked like it said, it coulda been great. That's what the review consensus is anyway. Tell me if it gets better, I've seen it for as low as $15 for the PC and very nearly bought it.

BAH! Don't trust any of those [censored] GTA rip-off chash-ins. If you want a side dish for vice city, get Headhunter, this 2002 sleeper hit is a surer bet than the current rush of knock-offs and far more origional... not to mention cheaper.

Omaru

Headhunter is cool, I like all the tongue in cheek humour, reminds me of robocop, only better, riding the bike is cool but you cant fall off still its cool, still I prefer mgs2 but only when skipping through the stupid plot, at least this game I like to sit through the plot, EVEN on the second time through it.

I bought a PS2 a few months ago and still, the only game I have for it is Vice City as I do not have enough funds yet for other games.

Crips...what's in WHICH console...i have so many...well, counting the ones currently plugged in...

Ps2- currently heading back to THE GETAWAY. I love this game. I'm sorry you're not as fond of it as I, Chris.

Xbox-State Of Emergency. Just reviewed it. Still in there. Not a super bad game, but gets old quick.

Gamecube-Zelda way baby. Damn this game rocks.

Gamebot Advance-Mega Man Zero. Good fun, tho i need to pick up the new one, Mega Man & Bass. Damn, i wish i could get games from Capcom, that would rule.

Sega CD-Snatcher. Best. Game. Ever.

N64-Goldeneye. When ever my stepbrother comes over, he tries to whip my ass in the MAN WITH THE GOLDEN GUN scenario...still the best FPS i've ever played (no, i've never played HALO...not a big Xbox or FPS fan, truth be told)

out of the 14 systems i have, that's all i'm playing now. We, all that's in my consoles, i should say. With all the reviews i do for the site, i barely have tome to game for ME anymore...and i really wanna play Zelda more...

BloodRayne in the Gamecube... all I can say is the bitch is hot... Something about a blood-sucking, red-head with knives, guns, explosives, and bondage wear just does it for me... (the game actually belongs to my fiancee...)

Don't know if you guys know this but I review video games. Used to for my old newspaper now for Rockpile magazine. An awesome publication if ever there was one. www.rockpile.net (http://www.rockpile.net)

BEst in Xbox right now...the new Indiana Jones game. It is friggin amazing and if you're a fan of the moviews you'll never stop playing. A good mix of action, action, action and some puzzles. Just the way it should be.

PS2: Devil May Cry 2 is great of course. Vice City i got bored with after i couldn't finish a few missions. but otherwise like Ryall i like the sniper stuff. and drive bys sometimes.

I'm gonna go get Zelda today (nintendo doesnt like to send review copies) need a new Gamecube title.

And pc guilty pleasure is still Tropico where you play your own Fidel Castro. Warcraft of course rocks. As does Jedi Outcast. Waiting on Star Wars Galaxies to destroy my relationship very soon.

My PS2 has a copy of the Auto Focus DVD in it, and my GameCube has X-Men: Next Dimension in it, which I got for cheap, and is a fun fighting game if you're into that sort of stuff.

So Aaron, let me guess around 1995 you were living in your parents basement with your GF coming over and playing NHL on the Sega megadrive™ (genesis™ US) cause saturn was too much, I think I would have been about 12 and going round my friends to play Streets of rage (Bare Knuckle US) and other stuff like shadow dancer back then.

Actually, its called Streets of Rage in the US, too. I've also seen it under the name Bare Knuckle, but I'm guessing that that's a japanese translation.

I still have a working 2600. Several, in fact. Sadly, I'm between usable tvs right now. Anyway, I still have Kaboom! loaded up, as I try and fix the @#$% paddle. It's gone oversensitive as they all seem to do. Twitch it and your on the other side of the screen.

Dave
04-08-2003, 05:37 PM
I know your pain. i've lost the paddle head (huh huh, i said head) to one of mine and have to play using just the little white stick that in went into.

DarthMaulRat
04-08-2003, 06:58 PM
I have an old intellivision which I've been thinking of fixing for the past week. Do you have any suggestions besides opening the thing up and dusting it out?
I know it hooks up about the same as a 2600. I think that its connectors may be messed up. What do you use? I think I need the attenea to cable converter and a generic gameswitch (those metal boxes with the slider for "game" or "t.v.").

Dave
04-08-2003, 07:20 PM
yeah, you should be able to get those from radio shack for little to no money. That's really all you need i think.

Let's see... in my PS2 is GTA: Vice City... in my XBOX is Splinter Cell... and in my Game Cube there is... oh I don't play that anymore.

My current PC games are IL2: Forgotten Battles, Americas Army, Rainbow 6: Raven Shield and 14 or so games I barely ever play (including a wasting-away EverQuest account).

I just picked up Zone Of Enders used for about £10 ($15.62 USD) and its actually quite a good, slightly repetitive game and I wish I bought it when it ages ago, plotwise it reminsd me kind of of Neon genesis eevangelion (the first thing that made me think religion was cool if you messed around with it, then came Dogma and made me think moreso,) namely because the hero hates fighting and etc and is reluctant to continue, anyway I shall be on the lookout for the sequal which I know is already out there but not so sure about here.

Doesn't anyone play Halo? That game is worth buying an X-Box for. I cant wait for Halo 2. That is the only console based FPS I have ever enjoyed. (yes that includes any of the Bond games) As far as computer games go...Call me old school, but i still play Half Life, and Quake II. I started playing Warcraft 3, but I realized something...It sucks. Other then that, Civilization 3, and Age of Empires 2 consume most of my time.

Adam_Poch

I too enjoy Halo. It is a damn fun game.
Single player? Fun.
Co-op? Better.
Deathmatch? Not my favourite but it's still more fun than most FPSs out there.
