So with the closing of the Shoot, is anyone else been hearing different sad and cheesey farewell songs any time they log on? At the risk of losing cool points, I'll admit to cycling through "Empty Chairs at Empty Tables," Billy Joel's "I've Loved These Days," and "It's So Hard to Say Goodbye to Yesterday."

For me it's been more of the Charley Brown Christmas song, that was used in Arrested Development whenever someone was sad. I hang my head and hear, 'daann naaa naa naa, naa naaa.' (The song is "Christmas Time is Here")

Goodbye MPS
Though I never knew you at all
You had the grace to hold yourself
While those around you crawled
They crawled out of the internet
And they whispered into your forums
They set you on the pedastal
And they wanted you to keep your name

And it seems to me you lived your life
Like a candle in the wind
Never knowing who to cling to
When the rain set in
And I would have liked to have known you
But I was just a kid
Your candle burned out long before
Your legend ever did

Updating on time was tough
The toughest role you ever played
Regulars created a home
And being hacked by n00bs was the price you paid
Even when you died
Oh the regulars still hounded you
All they had to say
Was that MPS was home

Goodbye MPS
From the regulars in the 22nd page of a thread
Who sees you as something as more than a joke site
More than just our Movie Poop Shoot

Damn it, I should've made my post in this thread. O'well.

I have that 'Sad Songs Say So Much' song stuck in my head now. And that's the only line I can remember.
And my foot is asleep.

I guess this one seems so obvious no one else thought of it.

"Movies"

At slow speed
We all seem
Focused
In motion
we seem wrong, wrong
In summer
we can taste
the rain

I want you to be free
Don't worry about me
And just like the movies
We play out our last scene

Two can play
this game
We both want power
In winter
we can taste
the pain

In our short years,
We’ve come a long way
Just to treat it bad
Just to throw it away

I want you to be free
Don't worry about me
And just like the movies
We play out our last scene

You won't cry!
I won't screeeeeeam!

In our short years
we come a long way
To treat it bad and throw away
And if we make a little space
A science fiction showcase
In our short film, a love disgrace
Dream a scene to brighten face
In our short years we come long way
To treat it bad, just to throw it away

I want you to be free
Don't worry about me
And just like the movies
We play out our last scene

hehe... When I was little I used to sit under the table and cry when they sang the end song.

Robbo, since you went out on a limb, I will lose a few cool points saying I hear "Hardened my Heart" ... Quarterflash. That song in itself I guess is not so good, but memories attached make it one of my favorites of the time.

It's a tossup. Jets Lyrics, or Prince Lyrics.. How about Gear Daddies, or Semisonic, The Replacements,... maybe Soul Asylum...

OH, I got one from a very famous group from Minnesota

Bei Mir Bist du Schoen, now let me explain, Bei Mir Bist du Schoen means that your grand..

I can only come up with "House That We Used To Live In" or "Drown in My Own Tears" by the Smithereens. I'm sure that I could come up with more but I can't right now..
