On the drive to work I heard Tim McGraw doing "When the Stars Go Blue". It was enough to make me want to go on a full-out Ryan Adams drug/drink binge that will culminate in falling off a stage somewhere, just to counteract the crapfest.
Good GOD it's horrible. How do you take this song and put a drum track behind it? How can you make a song this sad sound like it should have a line dance associated with it. YUCK! The U2/The Corrs version was at least a bit better than this.
Granted, I have never thought Tim McGraw was anything but a poster child for Nashville Pop Country, but at least he could stick to songs about drinking with his hillbilly friends on boats or something.
