Sorry if this has been posted already, because I don't think the sites are new, but I was looking for some info on the movie and came across a set of sites with some cool Poseidon info.

There are nine different journals, I think, all done by 'different, major online outlets' (as it says on one of them) so that there's more variety and more interesting stuff. I saw some interviews, set visits, and a couple really great looking pics. Anyway, here's the link, if anyone's interested.

(this goes to chapter 7- but it has links to a bunch of the other chapters)

Also- what's the word on the actual movie? I know the original is a major classic, and pretty much credited as the first 'disaster' movie. The cast list for this new version looks promising, and I thought the set pics and stuff were beautiful, but I haven't seen much info on the movie in general. Anyone? Bueller?

I loved the original Poseidon Adventure, and recently there has been a mini-series of it advertised on Sky (basically the brittish version of Fox...Murdoch ownes them both), and I feel that a film remake as well as the series is a bit of overkill. Although I have to admit that Adam Baldwin's involvment intrigues me more than it probably should.
A man acts in a series like that, you know he's not afraid of anything.

Yup, here is yet another unoriginal thought coming to the big screen. Why in the Hell can't these people come up with original ideas any more? Why do these people feel it is necessary to make re-makes of perfectly good movies? I doubt I will ever go watch this one as I was perfectly happy with the original.

Whoa- you're telling me the Hero of Canton is involved in which- the Sky series? That is great, and I totally had no idea. Blast my lack of SkyTV! Am I to assume this was a British production, being all unheard-of and on a British cable channel? How is he faring- will he survive the wreck?

I have to say, I'm looking forward to Poseidon- the CGI potential is good, and people seem to absolutely RAVE about the original. But I didn't know about all the previous spin-offs until recently, and I agree- I think there has been a bit of overkill with the whole Poseidon Adventure train. I mean, they made a sequel, and then like a TV movie, right? Both of which were not appreciated by the rabid fans of the original? And now a TV series AND another movie? That is a whole lot of sinking ships out there. Huh. I am totally behind, apparently, in the doomed sea voyage genre. Not since Titanic have a even heard of a movie about ocean adventures.

Oh- and I think you might have fun with this (or at least I did). My favorite parts were the shrill screams and the tiny shark. You'll see what I mean.

Also, phit_demon, I just want to add that you have endeared yourself to me forever with that cunning pic. :D
