I want to make this CD as soon as I get my computer(which should be tomorrow!).
So far I have included the tracks:
Born to Run - Bruce Springsteen
Layla - Derek and the Dominoes
Tiny Dancer - Elton John
Under the Bridge - RHCP
Summer of '69 - (I'm actually not sure who recorded this song)
Give me some suggestions. The main premise of this CD is songs that would be perfect to listen to in your car on a summer night.

Summer of '69 - (I'm actually not sure who recorded this song).Bryan Adams. I hate myself for knowing that.
For summer, anything off of Sublime's 40 oz. to Freedom album.

Bryan Adams used to be cool. Until he went all...... "I Do It For You". I think that was him right?

Oh, hell no! First you try to steal my man and now you diss my second favorite song in the whole world... It is so on like Donkey Kong!
<3 ya! :D
Anything off Led Zep's symbols album, or whatever the hell it's supposed to be called- lots of fond memories of cruising around town on a hot summer night, blasting Four Sticks and Black Dog. Or something else, Hell I don't know... summer hasn't meant shit to me since 1990...

What happened in 1990? Here summer means less to me because it didn't ever really end this year. 75 degrees yesterday. That was a valentines first.

Come over to my neck of the woods - got 10 inches (of snow) for ya.. ;)That CD by that white rapper from Toronto? The one with "Informer" on it? I wouldn't admit to having that album.

Crap, this is the music forum, isn't it?
And how did you know that I had the 12" remix of "Informer"? What's next - you're going to tell me that having a CD of C.M.B. is bad, too?

You rank up there with the guy that asked me if we had the song (singing at the top of his voice) "Get off of my bike! Get into my car!"

For a summer night...slower type music I would add:
You Belong to Me - Jason Wade (i think)
Yellow - Coldplay
Trigger Hippie - Morcheeba (i think)

I'll have to mark this day in the calendar that I made Robbo speechless.
C'mon, I'm sure that you don't want the others to know but you can admit it. You used to sing all of the lyrics to "I Wanna Sex You Up", right? You really miss that early 90s cheese like CMB, Gerado, and The Heights but are ashamed to be called out on it? No worrites, man - it's all good.

I was able to recognize when I was in the sixth grade that CMB was a flash in the pan aweful band. Working at a record store, I think I've found my calling.

For summer, anything off of Sublime's 40 oz. to Freedom album. If it's off of 40 oz and it's for the summer, I'd go with their cover of Scarlet Begonias.
I don't think that you can have a Summer album without Summertime by DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince. I'd also probably add Sour Girl by Stone Temple Pilots.

First, thanks for make me feel really old. Second, I'm very jealous that you're living the High Fidelity life. Some days, it would be fun to go off on someone who comes in looking for Michael Buble..

Oh, come now! There is nothing wrong wtih Michael Buble. I saw him in concert and he is great! He is the Manilow of our time!
Wrong thread. The selling out playlist thread is here (http://moviepoopshoot.com/forums/showthread.php?t=5677).

How is sugesting a little Zepplin be added to a summer night soundtrack akin to selling out? That whole album was the soundtrack for my summer back then. Along with the Cure's Disintigration and Van Halen's OU812... Guess I'm a fucking sellout...

1990 was my last summer at home. Graduated May 31st 1991 and went straight into boot camp. After that, summer's just been another day...

Along with the Cure's Disintigration and Van Halen's OU812... Guess I'm a fucking sellout...Well, that's just the link to all the songs we could think of that are in commercials now. Since Led Zepplin is using "Rock & Roll" to sell Caddies now, they ended up on that list. And it's a little disheartening to hear them try and sell grandpa cars.
It was nothing against you, by any means.
Well, that's just the link to all the songs we could think of that are in commercials now.
I don't watch TV...
Ooh, summer nights in the car. Them are the times I play my bass thumping tunes with my windows rolled down so everyone else can hear the music I like. (Yeah, I'm that ass.) - I have to get some use out of the speakers I inherited from my best friend.
Anyway music good for summer nights;
Cake- The Distance (Before you nay it because it's been over played on the radio some years back, just try it. Trust me, it sounds incredible with the bass turned up.)
NIN- Closer (this is also great with the bass turned up.)
Primus- (Pretty much anything by these guys is great for summer nights.)
I know there's more, but I can't think of them all right now.

Of course I'll have Zeppelin on there. Couldn't have a CD without my all time favorite. Just don't know which song yet. I also need to put some Doors on there.
It cracks me up everytime you say that.

The Song Remains the Same is going to be my Zeppelin song on there. Great song. Very... summer-ish.

Some of my summer night sound recommendations:
Soft Serve by Soul Coughing
Ghostwriter by RJD2
Rock and Roll by The Velvet Underground
Another Morning Stoner by ...And You Will Know Us By the Trail of Dead
Train in Vain by The Clash
Be There by UNKLE feat. Ian Brown
Someday by The Strokes
Mix in some clips of Bukowski and Bill Hicks for fun.

Train in Vain, that's a good one. I heart the Clash. Though, maybe Rock the Casbah would be better... hmm.
