Screw those lame opening ceremonies tonight, and instead watch the final(?) two hours of one of the funniest sitcoms ever.
At least Scrubs, Earl and The Office are still rolling.

Well, a fucking snow storm knocked out all the power here last night, so I did not get to see it.
I could murder someone right now....... !
I honestly don't think we have seen the last of Arrested tough.
Showtime has flat out said that they want to have it.
We shall see.

"On the epilogue."
Made me sad. But Ron Howard calling himself a Hollywood icon made me happy again.

Those episodes were absolutely posi-fucking-tively the funniest bits of TV I'd ever seen. I've only seen seasons 1 and 2, but to see that at the end of the 3rd season, all of the running gags were still there was awesome.
It did get pretty damn ridiculus, though, which I'm not complaining about. XD

So, any one take the idea of an Arrested Development movie as anything but a joke? I know the idea of a movie based on a cancelled Fox tv show is crazy (pause for irony...), but if anything else, the writers of AD could absolutely write a hilarious original movie if they gave themselves a few months.
But, all in all, a satisfying ending for the series. It was perfectly balanced in providing some conclusions while creating a few new cliff hangers should the show go on. Oh, and David Cross should win something for his performance. He clearly stole the show these last few episodes.
I missed most of the episodes because I had to work (and in fact I missed the entire season because I work on Monday nights) but the episode and a half I saw were great. The Hung Jury joke felt a little outdated (that's almost Family Guy territory . . . ), but overall it was great . . . I really like how, as the show has gone on, Tobias has been involved with more and more gay innuendo. David Cross might be the best part of the show, but everytime I say that, I think of Will Arnett. And then Jessica Walters. And then Michael Cera. And then Tony
Hale. And then Jason Bateman. And Jeffrey Tambor. And hell, even Portia.
I heard about the ending. Here's to an Arrested Movie!

wait, 'cause she's really hot or really funny or a big bitch or what?
Sorry, tones like that don't translate well onto message boards.

Good points. But I thought that the whole AD movie was referring to another cancelled low-watched cult-favorite FOX series (Firefly) which begat a great movie (Serenity). Or Maebe that's just my take..

Because of her, it is the only time that I wish that I was Ellen. At least for one night.

I'm pretty sure that that was the best two hours of TV, ever.
Franklin's "George Bush doesn't care about black people" chain was great.
George Michael: I got you a wedding ring...tone.
Michael (into phone): You didn't say "away."...You forgot to say "away" again."
Michael (to Lindsay): He said that Nellie's blown them all away.
Michael: They bend the rules to enforce the rules...
Seemed like a series finale to me.
"Frank": She turns illusions for money.

So, um, were we supposed to take this as meaning that...
(how to put this delicately?)
...George Michael had been "yodeling in the valley" with Maebe?
Since when is that second base?

no, no, no. That's Pete Rose sliding headfirst into SECOND base. Not the valley.

That makes me feel a little better.
Wait a minute...
No, it doesn't. It just means I'm clearly a twisted, twisted man.

Yeah, people mix us up all the time. It didn't help that our parents kept dressing us the same. Then there was this one time, on "The Love Boat", where we decided to switch fiances, without letting them know. Of course, by the end of the cruise, Captain Stubing and company helped us realize that we wanted to stick with our original fiances, after all. Good times.

mmmm I have to say though, now that we're both adults, it's kind of sad that we still dress the same.

No kidding. I don't think my co-workers are buying the: "It's not a skirt, it's a kilt!" argument.

I didn't. I tried the first episode and shut it off 15 minutes in. My co-worker sent me the quote. Actually, I don't even watch the new Family guys anymore. I like the old ones for the most part, but I'm kind of over them now. I mean knowing how the manatees write the show, it just sort of takes the fun out of it.

The quote was featured in Zap2it.com's 'TV Gal' column.
And the writer of that column hates me because I can't stand Jessica or Ashlee Simpson.
