What are everyones plans for Sunday? I am doing my annual superbowl party..
A friend and I have the same birthday (we were born minutes apart, I was 8:05, he was 8:09), same year... so every year since 1989 we have thrown a b-day party/super bowl bash. This year we expect a record attendance of 55, which means we need 2 grills. :)
The party consists of a byob (cheap beer and rootbeer barrel shots are provided.) We supply all the food, sodas, TV and video game consoles for the kids.
Anyone up here is welcom to attend, ... for those not attending, what are your superbowl plans?

Steak, writing a speech for class, and lots of beer. Other than that, just to watch the game.

I got a gig Saturday nite(8:00 start, 4 or 5 bands). Then my son's band has their CD releases party later that nite. I see a lotta couch time for me Sunday. Maybe invite some of the youngsters over for homemade chili. Rest, relaxation, and Rothlesberger.

Been meaning to ask.. does your band have recognition? I always go to the local bands when I get a chance, one of my students has a great chance of being huge, I am really proud of him!
See, watching one of my students become so good that he will soon be national feels good...

Shit, man, I'm in Waco. You know what kinda recognition that brings  . But seriously, the band that I'm playing in, that my daughter's boyfriend is the singer\songwriter\guitar player for, just played in a "battle of the bands" type thingy in Austin called Emergenza(it's global). You can check it out at www.emergenza.net (http://www.emergenza.net/) . We made it to round 2. We play at Antone's in May. Also check out my son's band website(www.steelloaded.com (http://www.steelloaded.com/)). The site's cornyish(done by the guitar player's mom's friend  ), but these kids got some catchy hard rock working. "Most Requested" band on "Local Licks" on the Waco "rock" station the last 5 weeks.

for homemade chili.
Over the last few weeks I've been trying to get my hands on the perfect homemade chili recipe so I gotta ask, what's yours?

I'll get dogged for not using "chili" meat(you can go half chili meat, half ground beef), but here's mine. Not exactly homemade, either.
2 lbs. meat(either, or a mix)
2 cans pinto beans(I prefer with jalapenos)
2 cans chopped, or whole peeled tomatoes
2 packages McCormick chili mix(find a mix you like)
Chopped onion if desired.
Brown meat, drain. Add everything else and simmer for as long as you want.
This is a "really" easy chili recipe. There are others that take more effort, time, and ingredients. But this works for me. Good luck.

Easy is good, I don't have 3 days to make the stuff like Bill Cosby.;) Thanks man.
